Another 48 hrs (1990) - starring Eddie Murphy and Nick Nolte; i believe this was beginning of Murphy's decline from the A-list. So bad compared to its predecessor.

Blade Runner 2049

it's a feast to the eyes and brain and not many films
does that these days. even if one hasn't seen the original, it's
pretty easy to connect the Deckard character to the past.

what I got from the film is the notion that AI is becoming more life-like.
it's an interesting topic for discussion and the answer is quite open ended imo.

two thumbs up for the exceptional cinematography. but that's expected when you hire
the great Roger Deakins to conceive the visual language.
definitely worthy of another viewing.

Blade Runner 2049: this sequel was made for those of us who loved the original, great casting, visually stunning, incredibly scored and yes very slow-paced. This film could have been shorter and it could easily have stood on it's own without Harrison Ford cast, the audience loved the whiskey & dog scene though..lol. The sex scene with Agent K, his AI/hologram love Joi and sex worker Mariette was one of the more unique & powerful scenes in the entire film. I recommend seeing this on the big screen and rate it a 8/10.
I enjoyed this film with AXD sound recently and really thought it was well done.

Initially I thought it was too long too but in hindsight, I couldn't have named a scene that should have been omitted without causing the watchers to scratch their heads. It was cohesive and I was into it right to the end.

I liked Harrison Ford's role but thought Jered Leto's could have been more forceful.

Anyone else come away thinking they had seen a bit of Apocalypse Now with the Kurtz scenes at the end of the river?

I've heard conflicting opinions about the sequel.
Blade Runner is one of my ATF
Films.
I guess I'll have to view it eventually

Saw "Guardians of the Galaxy 2", pretty good entertainment

Blade Runner 2049 (spoiler question) ?

Any idea why Deckard said "Rachel has green eyes " ?

Clearly, Sean Young has dark brown eyes.

Was it to distance her from the predator to protect her?

:p

Pondering :)

I think they were trying to seduce him with another copy of rachel. But they got the eye colour wrong of the original because the records were lost in that blackout and all they had was that audio recording. Deckard basically told them they did it wrong and then Niander had it executed when it failed to tempt Deckard. Then he says they will do the torture route instead.

The 'copy' had dark brown eyes like the original Rachel. I'm still confused why Deckard said Rachel had Green eyes but that is an interesting thought for sure.

I watched the Directors Cut Blade Runner last night.

Then that means he really was tempted and he onlu said that to make them get rid of her because his love for her was so overpowering he had to.

What version of the original blade runner were we supposed to watch for continuity?

What We Do In the Shadows New Zealand Mockumentary covering the life of vampires. Quirky, but funny in some parts, especially the reveal of who the Beast is. If you like Flight of the Conchords then you'll like this film.

American Honey - Shia LeBeouf

The coming of age story of a teenage girl who runs away from home to be with the circus, so to speak. The circus being a travelling magazine sales group. In the movie this band of misfits cross the mid west searching for love and money. Intense soundtrack.

While the trailer was exciting the movie was long, almost three hours. There were many sex scenes some even making me feel uncomfortable. I would not watch it again but recommend it if your looking for something on the long side. :)
Watched this movie some time ago. I seem to remember I gave it something like a 6/10. I think I know what you mean about the sex scenes though, as I said, it was some time ago when I watched it. I remember starting to watch a recommended movie "Once Were Warriors" and near the beginning a young girl is raped by a relative. As soon as a I realized what was happening I was so grossed out that I stopped watching the movie. I guess I could have fast forwarded past that scene but I had no appetite for the movie after that and never returned to it.

Suburbicon:

directed by George Clooney
written by Joel and Ethan Coen (FARGO)

enjoyed this crime/social drama set in the 50s.
two plots going on; a life insurance scam gone bad
and white angst/racism. I didn't see the two connecting
but I'm sure the latter was acknowledging what's happening
in present day USA.

there's definitely an homage to FARGO, but with Clooney
behind the camera, it wasn't quite there.
slow start but builds up quite nicely.

also liked the set design and cinematography.
3/5 stars.

I just watched the directors cut a week ago and clearly remember a strange glow in her eyes, somewhat like an cat or dog’s at night when the light hits just right. It was strange.

Woohoo! Cate Blanchett is HOT. Hemsworth's arms are good but out of proportion to his torso. Hiddleston is really skinny, especially in civvies next to H.

And props for the Nagel tribute.

You watch cammers? I watch movies on Kodi but have zero interest unless it's in HD which lately is harder to find.
