Baby Driver was awesome in the theatre. Great action, story line and like you say the soundtrack was great, playing a significant part of the story.
+1...Ocho, you have to fully experience it at a top-notch theater(theatre). Soundtrack is amazing!
Yea I totally believe that it must have rocked on a big screen and good sound system. I mean I watched on a tablet and still loved it. I do regret not getting the chance to watch it in a theaters. I will see if it is still playing.

I commend the director for going with a young kid to play the lead role. The supporting cast if very good too. I feel that Kevin Spacey was a bit underused. He is a brilliant brilliant actor. From The Usual Suspects to House Of Cards (and Seven very high up there in the middle), I love his work.

Wind River

Finally saw it! Jermey Renner stars in this mystery thriller and he is very good. Basically it's about a murder on a remote Indian reservation in Wyoming. The setting and locale have been exploited brilliantly. There is a chilling feeling throughout the movie and weather makes it even more intense. The whole movie is character driven and it's very effective. I think there is a bit of socio-political message in there too , but that's besides the point.

It's written and directed by the same guy Taylor Sheridan, who did Sicario as well as Hell or High Water, two very good movies. He also acted in Sons of Anarchy (as a youbg deputy sheriff), another very good series.

I am not sure if the movie is still playing in theatres or not but I just watched it on gostreams.is.

One of the best movies of 2017 imo.

WR was good, Renner was very good, the cinematography brilliant, but there was a scene so dumb, it defied logic and while it didn't ruin the movie, made it drop a good number of notches for me.

I've mentioned it to others, and they hadn't noticed it, so unless you do, the movie will remain great, instead of good.

"Paul" This is one of the funniest films I've seen in the last 10 years.
A couple of english sci-fi nerds go to a comic-con and then rent a big motorhome for a road trip to visit area 51 and Roswell.
They encounter a alien, pick him up, and get talked into helping the alien get to a rendezvous, all the while being hunted by the "men in black" characters.
Very funny script, excellent cast, thoroughly comedic.
9/10

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this movie!

I admit it...I have a very busy brain, & sometimes instead of music as 'background sound', I will look for a movie I can watch/listen to that I have seen dozens of times before. Paul is on that list. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are, as usual, brilliant together, as is Kristen Wiig. As for "Paul" himself? Well...

Gerald’s Game
Saw it yesterday on Netflix. It is based on a story by Stephen King and you can expect what kind of movie it is.
Usually horror is the least favourite of my genre but somehow I decided to watch it anyways. As it turns out it is not really a horror movie and more of a psychological thriller.

A middle aged couple tries to spice up their love life in a remote cabin. The wife agrees to play along to the husband ‘s fantasy and he handcuffs her to bed and...... he dies, with her still in handcuffs!

I kind of enjoyed the dark psychological undertones of the movie and if you are in to this kind if stuff, you might like it. (2.5 out of 5).

Baby Driver, 2017

Hip heist flick with a great cast, decent story. The film makes clever use of its prominently featured soundtrack.

Centres around a young driver coerced into working for a revolving door of gangsters organized by a boss (Kevin Spacey) robbing banks. Predictably our young protagonist falls in love and wants out, but it's never that simple, is it?

It's an old story but it's told well, the driving scenes I thought were good (compared to Fast & Furious drivel, IMHO) and the acting was great. Again, clever use of music all over the film.

7.5/10

American Made:

Based on a true story of a TWA pilot who was hired to fly over central America.
Tom Cruise plays Barry Seal, the greedy scum fairly well. Not the greatest but still it’s entertaining and funny at times.
My complaint is that it seemed a bit long and a bit hard to believe but overall it was enjoyable.

I haven't done any reviews in a bit:

Blade Runner 2049: Don't see it if you haven't seen the original. There's some emotional stuff going on, if you haven't been conditioned to the original's slow pace you won't like the sequel.

The Foreigner: Simple, but solid revenge thriller. Martin Campbell directs it well and the performances are very well done, especially Chan and Brosnan.

Never Say Die: Chinese comedy about a MMA fighter who likes to take dives for money, and a female reporter who outs him. They switch bodies in a freak accident. Crowd pleasing, but not a new classic. It has its funny moments but sometimes it can be a little stretched out and some jokes don't land.

Chasing the Dragon: Another chinese film, its a crime thriller about the rise of Crippled Ho. Donnie Yen performs well, but its Andy Lau reprising his Lee Rock character who steals the show. There are lots of good moments in the film, but the whole package is rather fleeting. Only go if you are a big fan of the actors or really like gangster films.

Watched "the Dark Tower" tonight. Unfortunately, it was absolutely terrible.

As an adaptation, any fan of the books has to look at it as an insult to the original. The story is mangled beyond recognition; the only way it compares at all is through a few character names and plot details that were pulled over.

As a stand alone film, this is still just a disappointment. Despite a good cast, the fabricated story is just so incredibly weak, as though they're not even trying to hide that they're just trying to cash in on the name.

I can't imagine anyone enjoying this film. It was so bad.

Want to see these 2 but will wait until I can download quality version via bit torrents.

Watched "Wind River" and "Nocturnal Animals" this weekend. Both are worth watching.

Blade Runner 2049: this sequel was made for those of us who loved the original, great casting, visually stunning, incredibly scored and yes very slow-paced. This film could have been shorter and it could easily have stood on it's own without Harrison Ford cast, the audience loved the whiskey & dog scene though..lol. The sex scene with Agent K, his AI/hologram love Joi and sex worker Mariette was one of the more unique & powerful scenes in the entire film. I recommend seeing this on the big screen and rate it a 8/10.

American Honey - Shia LeBeouf

The coming of age story of a teenage girl who runs away from home to be with the circus, so to speak. The circus being a travelling magazine sales group. In the movie this band of misfits cross the mid west searching for love and money. Intense soundtrack.

While the trailer was exciting the movie was long, almost three hours. There were many sex scenes some even making me feel uncomfortable. I would not watch it again but recommend it if your looking for something on the long side. :)
