Wonder Woman, maybe the best superhero movie ever.

Gal Gadot is indeed gorgeous but not trashy. Very well done.
Wonder Women definitely the best out the new DC movies. The plot actually made sense until the end unlike the others. Gal Gadot is sure beautiful!

Transformers the Last Knight: well not as bad all the other Transformers sequels but still they can't make a good movie. The movie is supposed to be about Transformers yet the humans have almost all the screen time. My childhood memories of the cartoons want them to make a proper movie.

Just came home from watching Wonder Woman. It was exactly as advertised. Visually speaking, it has to be one of the most spectacularly mind blowing movies ever. That also include Gal Gadot. She is ........... VERY pretty.

I loved it, my kids not so much. ....... I guess daddy enjoy Gal Gadot's legs while kids stuffed themselves with popcorn.

Baby Driver is next on the list.

Edited: I forgot to mention that we watched it in 3-D which was well worth it, especially the scene with old paintings seeming to be coming alive. Also, I was feeling a bit uneasy for about 5 minutes because of my kids beingwith me. For a brief period when Gal Gabot and Chris Pine see each other after she saves him, there were some .......... suggestive and naughty references like (something to the effect and I am paraphrasing) ... "Are you consider normal?", "No, I am considered a bit above average." Plus a long shot of full frontal nudity of Chris Pine (with his hand strategically placed).

Same thing happened in the boat scene when they talk about sex. I was thinking to myself, "Oh Gawwwd! I should not have brought my kids along!!" So, just a word of caution. Also, I should have known better it is PG-13. I know that kids know a lot more than what we did in our times, but still .............. oh well. Luckily it was ok after that.

The Big Sick: Apatow produced film finds Kumail Nanjiani writing this kinda biopic about his own love life with his current wife. Its charming, endearing, and kind of rejuvenates the romcom genre in its own way. If you like comedies mixed with some drama, then check it out .

Spiderman seemed like a build up to infinite war/spiderman sequels...action sequences were nice but still felt a bit disjointed bc of editing

Nice shout out to ultimate spiderman miles morales but childish gambino should've gotten lead....prowler alias sets up future connections though

The whole time I was waiting for spidey to do the witty trademark banter but wtf his mask was off like 90s Judge Dredd

It's a better movie, at least, than the infamous dance scene from emo parker in spiderman 3
It's Def official though Michael Keaton is typecast as a bird/flying character

Stick to Beast Wars that was the honest homage to the OG transformers....

The new transformers movie should be called the last shill....with all the Chinese product placements and whatnot

Alien: Covenant
2 words; underwhelming and predictable. Ridley wanted to do a third instalment Awakening, i don't know if that will be made since the box office performance of Covenant was lackluster.

Wonder Woman
Pretty good, not great or terrible. Much better than Suicide Squad. I think Gal Gadot needs to bulk up a little though.

Wukong (monkey king)

Prequel with extreme creative liberties taken for the monkey king.
Cliche movie with the usual CGI over the top sequences but for some weird ass reason they slow the pace down worse than wonder woman or a wes Anderson flick. Specifically on the lovey dovey scenes. Would not recommend unless you on a date, but even then Valarian or Wonder Woman would be a better flick

If you watch a lot of western movies/anime it's quite a bit of "creative liberties" with the plot and sequences, ex sun Wukong pulling a galdalf and destroying the bridge or the evil lady turning into the big bad last boss

I was fully expecting some wuxia martial arts action like Dragon Gate Inn but goddam those Chinese song slowdown parts. It was like the Celine dion song in titanic but much worse and more drawn out.

I blame Matt Damon and that godawful Great Wall movie

Movies That Are Overated/Overpraised

Not to hijack this thread or start a argument, just a brief summation of movies that i think are overrated/overpraised.

Rosemary's Baby
-Not scary at all, boring as hell. Get the pun.

Annie Hall
-Not funny but did become the model for future good rom-com's.

Deer Hunter and The Shinning
-Overlong, could have trimmed it down by 45 minutes and still have the same story.

Silence of the Lambs
- Anthony Hopkins was the only decent part of the film, Seven was a way better movie in the same genre.

Fargo
- I don't know why this flick gets so much acclaim. Those idiots Siskel and Ebert would not shut up about it.

Any films that you thought were overrated, chime in.

Summer has been crazy busy and I haven't had much time for movies. Baby Driver was on the list since I saw its trailer and I finally just finished watching it online.

It is stylish, slick, funny, action packed, thrilling all in one exciting movie. Oh and one thing more, the soundtrack is a killer. If you like cars, speed, music and road. I recommend it strongly.

I believe movies like this establish their own genre. I usually dont swear but this is one genre-bending shit!!

Free Fire (2017) - starring Brie Larson, Sharlto Copley, Cillian Murphy and Armie Hammer.

Key Points:

-Sort of a Resevoir Dogs knock off.
-Copley and Hammer stood out. Brie Larson was underused.
-Problem was that it is a 45 minute premise stretched to 90 minutes, they could have fixed this by having more character development before they got to the meeting.
-Its not a bad movie; has a few humorous moments, I don't know if i could recommend it. I guess it depends on if your a fan of crime flicks. You might have to flip a coin to decide.

I agree with your review of Free Fire. It was somewhat fun but very fleeting and stretched out.

I saw the new It movie and it was excellent. Captures the tone of a coming of age with horror just right. I'd definitely see it again or get it on bluray

Movies That Could Be Remade/Rebooted With Success

In Hollowood's infinite wisdom, they chose to remake/reboot classics; Robocop, Bad News Bears, Fame, Arthur to name a few.
Instead Hollywood should focus on movies that had an interesting premise but did mediocre. Below are a few that could work.

Red Sonja
-Need to make it R-rated like 300 and Gladiator.

Flash Gordon
-I enjoyed the 1980;s version with its campy fun and Queen soundtrack, it just needs an upgrade on the special effects.

Jack Reacher
-This needs to be rebooted, especially since the last one did poorly at the box office. Tom Cruise is no JR,
recast with someone who can play both cunning and intimidating, i vote for Leiv Schreiber from Ray Donovan.

A few others that could work; Foxy Brown, Saturn 3 and Barbarella.

Baby Driver was awesome in the theatre. Great action, story line and like you say the soundtrack was great, playing a significant part of the story.
