A wonderful actor, although not the most sensational. Although, excessive noise is the prerogative of one-day stars who cannot attract attention to themselves except for scandals.
Are you saying that Liam Neeson is a "one-day star" or are you using one of those automated Chinese to English translation programs? Or both?

The Marksman is completely forgettable, cookie cutter crap. neeson does the same movie over and over. He's supposed to be an action man, but in a lot of scenes he can barely run.

Speaking of Liam Neeson, I remember seeing Chloe starring him and Amanda Seyfried... I was interested simply because it was about a Toronto SP...
Amanda was supposed to be high end (and she could totally be if she ever decided to enter the scene), but I thought her character could have used more flesh out.
Granted, you can't expect anything realistic about the industry from a mainstream film, so maybe I should watch it again with a completely different mindset...

You have to remember is 68 years old. We will see how fast you can run when you are 68 lol. Many people don't realize that Liam was already 55 when he starred in his first big success action move - Taken. With such a late start he cannot be blamed for continuing to take action movie rolls if they are offerred to him.

I don't think Neeson is a vey good actor. He suffers from what I call Tom Cruise disorder. At first you might think Tom Cruise is a good actor. Then after a few movies you realize it's Tom Cruise as a race car driver, as a pilot, as a lawyer, etc... you never lose sight of the fact it's Tom Cruise because he really doesn't have any acting ability. I find Liam Neeson is the same. Now Russell Crowe, he has range.

If you look earlier in the thread, wheres did I say Neeson was a great actor??? I did say that
Joaquin Phoenix
is a great actor with incredeible range Just watch The Joker and the film where he portrayed Johnny Cash. And I do think that Russel Crowe is a good actor as well.

Two big name actors that I find have VERY little range are:
Samuel L. Jackson
who really sucked in The Red Violin and that Star Wars movie he was in

AND

Keanu Reeves

only good in very limited action roles.

Yeah sorry. I didn't mean to imply you thought he was a good actor. I just saw the name Neeson and that's what popped in my head. Joaquin Phoenix another stellar actor.

I highly recommend Green Book with Viggo Mortensen!! Checked it out last week on Netflix and found it very entertaining.

A fictional event but powerful. All star cast, and script that God should have wrote.
Highly recommended.

Just watched another Liam Neeson movie - Cold Pursuit Netflix.
Kind of a Pulp Fiction vibe to it.
I would say this is definitely a guy movie and we are not talking critics choice here by any means.
Entertaining and half the movie I was laughing, then the last scene, I was laughing so hard my sides hurt.

Loved it. Equal parts thriller and dark comedy with some other fun elements too. Very entertaining.

Neither one nor the other. You did not understand correctly. I mean, Liam Neeson is not the most sensational actor, because I do not remember that his real-life was actively discussed, that there were some scandals in it. Scandals, demonstrative actions are the prerogative of one-day stars, who are heard today, and tomorrow they have already been forgotten.
I do not remember hearing of any scandals in Liam Neeson's life. Please elaborate.

I do know that he suffered a great personal tradgedy when his wife, Natasha Richardson , died in a skiing accident here in Canada. She was by all accounts a very lovely person and also an accomplished actor and died much too young.

Tom Cruise is not an actor, he's a business. took a second look at Top Gun the other day, lasted less than 10 minutes. criticism of his 'method' best coversd by the wonderful Dorothy Parker who said of Katherine Hepburn (when she appeared in a Broadway stage play/bomb), “Miss Hepburn ran the whole gamut of emotions—from A to B.”

Definitely works better if you treat it as a comedy, since none of it makes any logical sense and there are so many ridiculous plot holes.

This is one of the funniest movies I've seen...

I don't mind Cruise, or Neeson, they are not the best, but also far from the worst. Seen so much worse, I wonder how some of these people have even gotten a 10 second appearance.

The Rover

I caught it on IPTV. I have to say Australians make movies differently. The cast is good and the movie starts well although the plot is a bit hard to believe. In a post economic collapse era, three criminals steal car of the character played by Guy Pearce and he hunts them down along with brother of one of the three guys.

The movie is grim and full of violence some of which seems to be there just for thrills. It starts well but then slows down and for a while it gets boring. There are not many dialogues. It kinda reminded me of Mad Max because of the grim era, the locales and a central character who has nothing but revenge on his mind.

Recommend: Yea I guess. Because I liked the visuals and the style.

Snowpiercer

Decided to watch it again. I loved it the first time and second time was just as good. The story is original and interesting. Basically a train that goes in loop around the world non-stop. The world has frozen over because of ice age. In a way it is a micro cosmic representation of the society.

Tilda Swinton proves that she takes on every role as a challenge and makes it extraordinary.

A great movie by Bong Joon-ho who also made Parasite and The Host.

I really enjoyed that movie too and was constantly laughing. I thought it had sort of a ‘Fargo’ vibe with the wood chipper but in this case it was wrapping the bodies in wire mesh and tossing them to the fishes.

Weird that the reviews are so polarized with some hating it and some loving it. Usually there’s some in the middle ground too.

I downloaded (via bit torrents) and watched yesterday the new release "Nobody". Talk about a lot of fun to watch. Bob Odenkirk portrays a John Wick like character. Christopher Lloyd plays his dad and is a fun to watch also in his relatively small part. When you get to the "I've Got To Be Me" part of the movie, you will realize you have hit a home run LOL. Strongly recommend.
