How are those under 70 able to get their second dose? I know people in their 50s and they can't get their second dose until August (16 weeks after the first dose).
Where is this?
In Manitoba almost anyone can get a second dose.
Almost everyone I know over 50 has had a second shot.

Got my second Pfizer shot yesterday morning. I'm personally surprised and pleased that outside of a very minor sore shoulder, the symptoms of my second shot were easier than my first.

Triple vaccinated now, AZ in March, Moderne in April, second moderne today ( USA doesn’t recognize AZ before you ask why three shots)
Wow, your immune response will be pretty much at 100%.
Strongest is when the spike protein (AZ) is combined with mRNA. A double mRNA puts you in the already boosted category. Nice!!
And for the tinfoil hat crew, you are being tracked by way more than just Bill Gates!!

I hope everyone realizes that just because you're fully vaccinated doesn't mean you can't contract covid. In Israel where they adopted the same delayed second dose strategy were in "freedom" mode. Then *bang* they are under restrictions again. Around 50% of the covid cases including deaths are those who are have had two doses.

The way I look at it: play now, pay later. We're in the eye of the hurricane right now. Don't throw away your masks this year. We'll be paying the price this fall and winter.

I'm confused. You got your AZ in Canada and Moderna in the USA? I hear it's almost impossible for Canada and BC at the moment to verify vaccinations outside of BC/Canada.

I just got my second one at Canada Place yesterday. Very pleased on efficient how they are running the clinic despite how many people they had going through there. Arm little sore but not much side effects happening
The Canada Place location has received many praises amongst those vaccinated and worked there. One of the few locations in Vancouver Coastal Health that have been praised. It's interesting to see the vaccine ratio from my observation: 25:1 Pfizer versus Moderna.

Well since quite a number of people got their 2nd dose, maybe life might get to a semi-normal routine.

According to the BC government restart plan; if 70% of the 18+ population vaccinated with dose 1, along with low case counts and low COVID-19 hospitalizations. , a much broader re-open will be at Sept. 7 for businesses and other activities.

I know it's asking alot, cautiously optimistic though.

Considering the rapidly increasing infection rate, your optimism may be wrong. Sorry, but it is really looking that more lockdowns may be the order of the day.

Information I am seeing from the infectious disease journals I'm following, is that:

- the delta variants (more than one now) have a slimmer protein spike, more easily penetrates cells
- whereas the original SARS2 virus was like a sticky glue, delta is like gorilla super glue on steroids
- these two make it much much more likely to infect the % higher is tough to calculate but suffice to say delta will get you if you are exposed
- it lives in the nose and throats of pretty much everyone, vaccinated or not, for a few days. This is f-g scarey!!
- unvaccinated are going to get sick.
- vaccinated do not get sick but still can be a carrier

If the committed unvaccinated crowd continue to keep their rectal output firmly inputting their cranial input, covid will continue to circulate. Unplug that rectal input thing, breathe some air and gain a tad of intelligence and get fucking vaccinated, and eventually SARS2 in all its variants, has no where to grow. And it dies.

Till then I guess its continue wearing a mask, stay somewhat apart and as I do, continue to call the unvaccinated ass hats, fuck wads. But hey, if they don't get vaccinated, delta will just become the Darwin Variant and eventually the problem will be solved.

Absolutely! Each business has the right to impose any restriction(s) they choose, and i fully comply with their rules, but the vaccine is readily available (and oftentimes can be had by dropping-in to one of the many pharmacies) so those that opt not to take advantage of protecting themselves are now willfully at risk. My State/County has lifted the mask mandate for the fully vaccinated due to the high percentage of those having received the shot, so my 'smug' comment was more indicative of where we've come vs. showing-off.
If those that decide to NOT get the shot become infected (in the off chance) by the mask-less vaccinated, then they'll only have themselves to blame...there's no rational excuse not to protect yourself, (but I'm assuming rationality here :))
Gotta love that feeling when you find out you have passed the virus on and killed or seriously affected someone else' health. Remember there are people who cannot get the shots for legitimate legal reasons
