I've been hanging out with an SP quite a bit lately and she recently asked me to become her pimp, get her bookings, etc and take a 30% commission. I have to admit I'm tempted. I could probably make a lot of $ from this but I care about this woman and don't want to take advantage of her. I want to do right by her and add value to her business. I'm curious how you ladies feel about pimps/madams. Love 'em? Hate em? View them as a necessary evil? Completely unnecessary? What qualities do you look for in a pimp? What services do you expect? What do you think is a fair rate? Any advice? Thanks Ladies.

Nothing stopping you from doing for free if you want to do right by her.

Right??? If you want to help somebody out running their business to be a nice and helpful guy there's nothing wrong with that. However, profiting off a woman's body, taking money out of her pocket is not only illegal, but just plain wrong. I'm sure you could have come up with the idea to do it for free on your own, so you can't be that concerned with doing the right thing...

Well, in this case, size doesn't matter at all.

You should be punctual, reliable, and not post fake pictures.

You should be fairly trim, have sparkling eyes and a mouth to die for....... I think you would do O.K. if you can give a great BBBJ with deep throat and swallow...................................And if you swings both ways, your ass should be shaved.

Your rate .......... well, I would think it should be somewhere between $12 and $15, but never over twenty,.... for the whole evening...:)

Maybe you do not realize. YOU work FOR her!!

If she is getting the majority of the cut then you better:

#1 - Be answering that phone and booking calls and returning emails
#2 - Have a nice car to pick her up in. You better open that door for her. We don't wanna break a nail.
#3- It is door-to-door service. And if I wanna stop at the 7-11 after, how about you offer to run in and get what I need? God for bid I have to walk any farther than necessary in these heels.
#4 - I will give you your "fee" but expect nothing else. Except maybe the "chance" to see my bare ass as I get in and out of the car. Gawking at my cleavage is strictly forbidden and is grounds for dismissal.
#5 - I forgot to mention. Make sure the ads are paid for on time, up to date and bumped constantly.

The first three months you are on probation and can be dismissed at any, time without warning. If you are late ONCE that is grounds for automatic dismissal.

If you cannot do these 5 things to MY standard I will have to find a new "agent". Otherwise, you are useless.

Good luck

To Pimp? More like to be someone's bitch and she wants you to do things for her because you're a reliable guy. Stop being a "nice guy" and buy yourself a T-bone steak.

I hate those tv show-wannabe pimps.

*Unless it's a euphemism and being her "pimp" turns her on. ;)

You do realize that what you are talking about doing, in a Public forum, is an illegal activity, right?
My understanding is that the avails laws have been read down by appellate courts to only apply in clear cases of exploitation and licensed agencies in many cities are openly providing similar services to escorts at higher rates than I was offered.

Nothing stopping you from doing for free if you want to do right by her.
Thank you for stating the obvious.

I don't see what she proposed to me as profiting off a woman's body. I see it as providing services to her, that help her increase her comfort, safety, and income from her business; in other words, I would be her employee or independent contractor. I see nothing wrong about being paid for that whatsoever. Expecting me to spend my valueable time for free is quite insulting, much as you would find it insulting if someone asked you to provide your valuable services for free.

hmmm...
I think that I prefer the term "agent"
pimping implies some form of ownership doesn't it??
BTW The manner that you describe this leans to the fact that you don't particularly care for her and you are stroking your ego! just sayin

pimping also implies an attitude
She was the one who used the term pimp to describe what she was looking for but you are probably right, the term "agent" has fewer bad connotations.

its interesting the perception of the word pimp. the men for the most part are undevided and in unison, that making money off of a working girl is pimping and that whether or not she hired you is irrelevant. i feel much the same way. pimps, agents, handlers, agencies are all a means to the same end.

while the women seem to be offended by the word pimp they happily accept an agent when im sorry to most of us guys theyre one and the same.

ughh, as if this industry didnt seem sleezy enough.

Seems like quite the dilemma? If you do it for money well you're breaking the law, & if you do it for free well that puts you in the friend zone:confused:
I'm not worried about being "friend-zoned". The issue with doing it for free is that I make a lot of money in my other job and would have to sacrifice some of that income if I spent a lot of time working on "agent" activities. As for the legal issues, I believe there are loopholes that would allow me to do this legally, but I plan to consult an expert before making my final decision.

Whether YOU see it as profiting off a woman's body or not, it is what it is, when using the term "pimp", And it seems that wasnt your intention, in the traditional sense of the word. And if you really care about her, like you say, you certainly wouldn't think if it as "insulting that you would offer your valuable services for free" you would think you were helping out someone you really care about. I do lots of things for people I really care about, that I wouldn't do for people I don't know or don't care for, and I feel good about it. You're kind of contradicting yourself. That being said if you would like to be her "employee" which is great (and you sad you realize that, so I guess the term pimp probably shouldn't have been used) I would take a salary, not a commission... I think taking a commission would make it an illegal activity, but being employed by a lady, for wages, as her personal assistant or something like that, would probably keep you on the right side...

A man who controls prostitutes and arranges clients for them, taking a percentage of their earnings in return.

You can see the difference is huge. Sorry if I find the word pimp offensive, and it obviously wasn't your intention. Miscommunications abound!

You're both adults, you should be able to work something out. As everyones doing it of their own free will, I don't see any problem.

Wow no kidding. Why is everyone getting so worked up about this? Pimp is just a word, I would think people who are familiar with this business would be able to see the word for what it is and not some dramatic sensationalized representation of it. Sheesh. Regardless of the word he chose, it's pretty obvious from his post that he's not looking to control or take advantage of her..

I hope she makes it clear that clients contacting her are initially communicating with her 'agent/assistant/whatever' (not pimp lol) and doesn't pretend it's her - I think guys should know and shouldn't be lead to believe she's the one emailing them etc..

I don't see the problem with this. I mean, I don't really understand why anyone would want to give someone else 30percent of what they earn from appointments to do what is pretty easy work and in my view, not worth the exchange but there's nothing unusual about it. It's not very different than agencies although some agencies take a bigger cut and they usually come with their own clientele, as well as cover advertising for their agency or individual girls. The OP's arrangement presumably doesn't include advertising costs and she will still pay for advertising even if he's the one who will manage it?

Like I said, it makes no sense to me why anyone would want to pay someone else to do it but I guess it's an alternative to agency work. I mean, sure sometimes it can be frustrating that you may miss out on a appointment because you were in another and missed the phone call, for example. But not enough to give up on one third of what you earn for what is pretty easy work overall.

But if that's what she wants, then I don't see why it's a problem if he accepts her offer...?

I'm not saying that I would never do anything for free, Cami. Just that you shouldn't expect or presume that someone will do so in a relationship that you know very little about. I have done and will do many things for free but in this situation it was she who had the idea to pay me and it seemed fair as what she is looking for is not just a one time thing but ongoing and likely to be very time consuming. If I could help her in a way that didn't take up much of my time I would gladly do it for free.

As for your definitions of employee vs. pimp, I am not sure. Many employees (i.e. salespersons, real estate agents, etc.) work on commission. The advantage of employing someone on commission is that if they don't generate profits for the employer they don't get paid. That might work way better for an escort, since an hourly wage or salaried employee might be mediocre at their job and spend a lot of time but not generate much business for her. Conversely, a commission can be a great incentive for creativity and initiative in employees. As for the pimp definition, I would not be "controlling" her in any way, simply helping her as best I can, so would I not meet the full definition of pimp that you cited. As mentioned earlier by others, the term agent is probably better.

Finally a rational response! Thanks for saying that. I was surprised too at how strongly people reacted to the word pimp.
