Two of my favourite movies in the theatre won best actor Oldman, best actress McDormand and best supporting actor Sam Rockwell.
Two quality films IMO

I am totally with you on both best female actress and best male supporting actor. I have not seen Darkest Hour but Gary Oldman is heck of an actor so I am sure he did a great job.

Just like every year, Oscars always make me go wth. I have seen Shape of the Water and found it to be a good movie with good acting .. but ... best movie? I don't think I see it that way.

Yes, we have seen this story so many times and that's where I was a bit not too impressed. You can draw so many parallels. Splash, Beauty and the Beast, King Kong!!!!

Only thing that stood this movie apart was new technology and acting. But I still feel it did not deserve Best Picture award.
