Wonder woman was an amazing movie, Gal Gadot is a fantastic actress! The humour and the action were all very well doneI saw a thurs night early screening of Wonder Woman. Fucking fantastic is all I can say. DC and WB finally get it right and give the mighty amazon princess a film worthy of her character. Must see, if you like superheroes at all
The first one was absolutely incredible, it destroyed all other action movies for years on both ends of it's release - my only bone to pick with the second one was that no one was afraid of him anymore, and there was very little respect shown in it compared to the first one. Otherwise the action was well done (except a few over the top scenes - hit by a car.. twice?) Glad they added the pencil scene though![]()
John Wick: Chapter 2 starring Keanu Reeves, Ian McShane, Common and Lawrence Fishburne.
Rambling observations:
- If you like the first one then you will like this one, if not you might want to pass on this one.
- Higher body count.
- Ending leaves it open for a part 3.
- Lawrence Fishburne was in it for only 10 minutes; hopefully they will have more of his character in the future.
- Better than most action movies today; no shaky cam, wide angle camera shots instead of too many close ups and very few edits during the action. Yes i am lookin' at you Resident Evil the Final Chapter.
Final Score: 7 out of 10, ymmv.
- Warning Spoiler Ahead......
.......I did not find the main villan all that interesting or threatening, i would have rated the movie higher if this was not the case.
I agree! I thought it was terrific!Wonder woman was an amazing movie, Gal Gadot is a fantastic actress! The humour and the action were all very well done.
You are Bang On. I watched Jake or rather noticed him for the first time in Prisoners and I honestly believed that he blinked like that for real too. Then I watched Nightcrawler and I was really impressed. I recently watched him in Life as well. I think him and Mike Ruffalo are VERY good. So yea, I agree about the movie Enemy and you are right that it makes you think and doesn't exactly lays it on the table. I guess that is also true about Arrival by same director.![]()
A very good film. A film that can make you think and doesn't need or want to spell everything out for you. A slightly strange and mysterious film directed by Denis Villeneuve, who has directed The Arrival and currently in production of BladeRunner 2049 ( please don't let it suck).
Mr Villeneuve described the film as a documentary of Jake Gyllenhaal's subconsciousness or a battle within his subconsciousness. With symbolic images of spiders and special keys that lead to underground clubs. What do the spiders in the film represent? Hmmmm.
It's based off a Jose Saramago novel The Double.
Jake Gyllenhaal in this film proves once again that he is a versatile actor and becoming one of my favorites to watch.
If you want to see a truly creepy performance by him, check out Nightcrawler. After watching that film, you'll may understand why some people consider CNN as fake news.

It's already on my list.Y'all need to watch BABY DRIVER. Edgar wright's new film is heavy on style, white knuckle thrills, and cool characters. Its a heist car film done right, and one of the nicer surprises of the summer movie season.
They lost me with the whole bank scene at the beginning, it had so much potential and just became so ludicrous. Was bored last night so we went to see the latest rendition of 'Pirates of the Caribbean'.
What a stupid movie.
Can't decide if it wants to be a slapstick comedy, or a romantic comedy, or action/adventure, or a horror film. Doesn't do either genre very well. The series has really gone downhill. My friend actually fell asleep around half way through. Would not recommend.
My favortie Batman movie was the one with Michael Keaton in the lead and GORGEOUS Kim Basinger to adorn the screen. Of course it had Jack Nicholson, the master of fiend and evil. There is no one who can match him IMO. I saw this movie in a plane ride in 1990 and repeated it over and over again. The new Spiderman movie.......in my view...WOM.....-5 out of 10.
I was waithing for Micheal Keaton to say fuck it an turn into Batman
