Heard good things about The Witch.
One of the most boring movies I've seen.
Not frightening unless you think watching paint dry is scary.
Viggo has been a favourite actor utilized by Canadian director David Cronenberg in recent years. These include "A History of Violence", "Eastern Promises" and "A Dangerous Method". I have not watched the last of these 3 yet, but the the first 2 I have watched several times and are great movies. Both of these movies contain a fair amount of violence, especially the 2nd. The fight scene that takes place in the bath house in Eastern Promises is the most visceral fight scene I have ever seen!Viggo did an interview about that on CBC, man may be the only guy in Hollywood worth listening to.
Thoughtful and concise, doesn't pose in designer clothers for free publicity, seems sincere.
All around good guy.
I agree. I have seen first two and he has this unique and eerie appearance. I will add A Dangerous Method to my TDL.Viggo has been a favourite actor utilized by Canadian director David Cronenberg in recent years. I believe that is the first movie that Frances MacDormand was in also. And since she has been married to Joel Coen since 1984 as well, , it seems only fitting\
Blood Simple: One of Coen brothers' earliest movie. It could be their first ever. (I just checked, yes it is their first ever, made in 1984). In fact, I only recognized Frances MacDormand and Dan Hedaya (from Commando and Cheers) out of all the actors. It is your typical Coen brothers' movie. Twisted, on the edge, odd and very well directed. If you enjoy watching Coens' stuff, this movie will not disappoint you. 3/5.
Brilliant script and very intense acting."Eye in the Sky"
A war movie, but with a modern and unique perspective.
The title refers to the predator drone that flies 24,000' above a house that has a suicide bomber gearing up to attack civilians.
Americans control the drone and have their fingers on the trigger, the Brits argue amongst themselves whether to make the kill or not. The legal guy is undecided, the politicans pass the buck, the administrators say No, the military men say Shoot.
A young girl selling bread poses the "collateral damage" dilemma.
Quite a good script that raises many questions about the morals and ethics of killing terrorists by proxy
8.5/10
Helen Mirren was brilliant as usual, Alan Rickman was understated but believable (was terminally ill from pancreatic cancer, and died shortly after the film), Aaron Paul had a silly role trying to bring a conscience to killing by drone warfare, Barkhab Abdi was excellent as the operative on the ground.Brilliant script and very intense acting.
Even if you are not into war flicks, this one has a lot of great dialogue about morals of war Or lack there of...
i saw suicide squad on he weekend good fun movie lots good action and music and eye candy for boys and girls also got my halloween costume picked out![]()
The CBC reviewer only gave it 2/5. He said that when the first edit was completed the powers that be thought that it was not nearly as exciting as the trailer. So they hired the crew that created the trailer to re-edit the film ?!?! the result, from the CBC reviewer's point of view, was something half way between a trailer and a move and _NOT_ a very satisfying result. Thanks for this! I heard mixed reviews and was wondering whether or not I should check it out.
the director said that the theatrical cut was his directors cut i find it hard to believe that anyone could find it not exciting but everyone has there own views but i liked it just take it as it is and dont expect it to be a best picture nomination. let us know what you think cami if you do see it.The CBC reviewer only gave it 2/5. I think I will wait to watch it until a 2GB 1080P version can be downloaded from a bit torrent site.
