After a long delay finally I caught a couple of them that I really wanted to see.

Bridge Of Spies Brilliant moviemaking. Great story telling. It is tense and evenly paced. Steven Spielberg is what he is for a reason. Adding Coen brothers to his team has added another dimension to this movie. Very well acted. Tom Hanks makes it look so easy. Rest of the cast is also good, esp the guy playing the Russian spy. You rarely see that kind of role played by an antagonist. Visually it is striking and very well shot. If you are into espionage, drama (but no real action), this is a movie you shouldn't miss[7/10

Locke - Being a Tom Hardy fan, I had to watch this one. This is not your usual movie. Basically you just see one person and his car on the screen. You just hear other people's voices on the phone and it is done so smartly. Tom Hardy aced the role of this tense man under pressure. It is shot in real time too and if you want to see something different, this is the movie for you. Loved it! 6/10

Here are a few more for what it's worth...

The Hobbit movies....liked them, abit over long and strayed from the book significantly could have easily been one or two movies at most. But I like anything
Tolkien.
The Martian: thought it was a really good movie, but I love Martian movies, and am a space geek anyhow.
Interstellar: not nearly as good as the Martian. I can see lots of Arthur C. Clarke ideas percolating in the script
Spectre 007: Great action flick, definitely a must see
Catching Fire, Mocking Jay I and II: read the books so had to see the movies, good representation of the books, I liked them, though they weren't absolutely wonderful movies.
Fury: Best war movie in ages
The Hateful 8: Seemed like a stage play made into a movie by Hitchcock. Decent, bloody and typical Tarantino
Hyena Road: Best Afghanistan war movie to date! Thought it was really good fare.
Jurassic World: pretty good show from the mother of all dinofranchisees. It was what I expected and a good time waster.
Divergent and Insurgent: Average SF movies, I read the books so I saw the movies. If you haven't read the books the movies would have much less appeal
Bridge of Spies: One of my favourite movies of the year! Great true story grippingly told by the master film makers of our age.
Fast and Furious 6: more driving fun from the car racing franchise extrodinaire. Good popcorn muncher.
Zero Dark Thirty: not the easiest story to follow due to trying to put on film 10 years of investigation and intrigue, but worth watching none the less. Not for conspiracy theorists
Django Unchained: I liked it much better than The Hateful 8. Never knew which way the story would turn. Really Bloody Good Movie! LOL
The Revenant: Worth it to see the grizzly scene alone. Jeez he is one tough bugger!

saw Free State of Jones, and enjoyed.the critics were rather harsh on it but I thought it was well done.

one of those "based on a true story" which Hollywood then can transform into what it likes, but I found it entertaining.

some bits of it were Tarantino-ish,not saying that's a bad thing.

thought Matthew McConaughey(sp?) was very good.

Inception..needlessly long and complex, and ultimately not compelling
...
Red Planet...better than average SF Mars picture, liked it
...
World War Z...loved it, best zombie flick I have seen in ages.
Haven't seen most you have listed, & don't concur with all your views, but most & all those above.

Yes.

Spectre didn't get overwhelming praise in reviews on Amazon.ca, but i took the risk anyway.

Compared to previous 007 films & as a sci-fi action junkie i was well pleasured ;

Just watched a small indie movie called "Safety not guaranteed" it is by far the most charming, disarming and evocative movie I have seen is awhile. It is about love lost, love found, and coming of age no matter what age you are. The story is based in Seattle and is wrapped around a bunch of intern writers out to investigate an advert for a time travel companion. Just watch it, the movie has heart.

Rewatched a favourite movie from 1977 called "Pretty Baby" it is about the last days of the red light district in New Orleans in 1917 and about a young girls coming of age. It is so evocative of a time and place and the changes that came about as America lurched from the Edwardian liberalism towards prohibition and the rise of revivalism. As a young man it showed me what ladies of the evening and what they were about. I guess it showed a seed only to blossom many decades later. For me it is a must see for pooners and ladies alike.

Other recent watches for me are: "The Man from UNCLE" which I liked quite abit. Much better at catching the flavour of the times than something like The Kingsmen.

Middle Men...is a great biopic about the dawn of Internet porn and the guys who fell into it by accident and made millions. I think that this is also a must see for people like ourselves who are interested in things that directly affect our lives sexually on a day to day basis.

Eye in the Sky.... A movie that revolves around the decisions to use active intervention drone strikes. It was gripping from beginning to end. Helen Mirren was absolutely brilliant in the lead role.

So there you have it movie fans a few more...

I heard great things about Safety not guaranteed and will watch it later this week.

Middlemen is loosely based upon the beginnings pay per view porn industry that we had in hotels in the 1990's

Eye in the Sky is amazing with the plot, the writing, the political interference in a military action and the human element about not having collateral damage when taking out the terrorists. I watched it 2x when recuperating from the flu last week.

A few more...

Tomorrowland....Not particularly good SF... Geared towards your young audience
American History X...Very Good, Edward Norton as a thinking Skin head trying to turn himself around, and being considered a traitor to the cause.
The Frozen Ground...crime thriller, the chase for a mass murder of girls in Alaska in the early 80's...I didn't loose my attention, I was drawn in and stayed there for the duration.
The Way Back....Peter Weir epic escape of a bunch of gulag prisoners in 1940-41 that walked from Siberia to India, very good character study and based on a true story. I would have like to have found out what happened to the other guys. As it was we only found out what happened to the protagonist in the denouement.
The Hundred-Foot Journey...East Indian family restaurant opens in French village opposite a Michelin starred eatery run by Helen Mirren. Sweet Romance, along the same lines as Chocolat. Great girls night movie, Way too long (2 hrs +) for a date night flick. Good movie, liked it, but they could have pared a half hour out of it and it would have tightened things up considerably and lost none of the essentials.

My name is Charles Bronson.

BRONSON: Finally caught it. I have to say that each time I watch Tom Hardy, I got more impressed. Enough has been said about this movie already, it is about England's most violent prisoner Michael Peterson. The way they have made it is different. They have given it an artsy feel. Which is not bad, just a bit different. But yea, it is Tom Hardy all the way. This guy can really act. Strongly recommended. By the way, for those women who like him, there is a shot or rather shots of his ....... front. In fact, he fights butt naked with his .... gun flapping around. lol. Not for me, but I am sure some people would like to see it. :)

10 Cloverfield Lane...really good thriller with great acting, but a rather cornball ending
The 5th Wave...OK, typical alien survivalist flick, wait for it on small screen
World War Z...loved it, best zombie flick I have seen in ages.
Child 44...loved it, Tom Hardy is brilliant, based in the early 50's (around the time of Stalin's death) Soviet era, a child murder runs wild in the workers paradise where murder does not exist as that is a capitalist disease.
A few personal observations from the movies listed above:

10 Cloverfield Lane - I have not watched it but the trailer is very similar to an episode of Metal Hurlant Chronicles, a modern day Outer Limits. The episode I refer to starred Michelle Ryan. She is one of the sexiest women I have ever seen on the small screen. She was in short lived Bionic Woman relaunch/remake. She was especially sexy in the following series:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0497298/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_19
BTW, James Nesbitt was brilliant in that series. He is very good in the following new series: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4800878/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_1

The 5th Wave - Just ok. The ending really leads you to believe they intended to either use it as a pilot for a new series or at the very least intended to make a sequel. I suspect neither will actually happen.

World War Z - As a zombie movie, it was ok. I read the book previously and they have very little in common. The main reason for this is that in the movie there is no main character. Each chapter for the most part introduces new players that play their part in the war. If they had made the movie faithful to the book, Brad Pitt's part would have been 15 minutes long at most. They made other changes, such as where the disease originates (China in the book) and the zombies in the book move slowly, while in the movie they practically gallop.

Child 44 - I agree that is a good movie. I am hard pressed to think of a movie starring Tom Hardy that is not good.

Have you watched Lawless? Another great Tom Hardy movie and Jessica Chastain plays a character very different from any other part I have seen her play. I think she is currently my favorite female actor. Very versatile and very sexy in some of her roles.

Thanks for recommending. Yes, jessica Chastain is Brilliant!!!!!!!!! I noticed her in Take Shelter. Although the movie was all about an excellent performance by Michael Shannon, Jessica stood her ground. She is a real versatile actress with this .... strange sexual vibes. She was just excellent in Zero Dark Thirty and sadly , she was under used in The Martian. But yes, I hope she does more movies.

Jessica was also in The Help and A Most Violent Year, movies definitely worth watching. I see that IMDB lists 7 future projects she is involved in. Clearly we 2 are not the only ones impressed by her :)

BTW, the director of Take Shelter (an interesting little film), Jeff Nichols, seems to really like Michael Shannon! Michael has had a part in all 5 full length movies that Jeff has directed. I believe that Jeff wrote the screenplays for these movies as well.

Yes, I saw The Most Violent Year. That guy (was also in Ex Machina) Oscar Issac is also very impressive. The Most Violent Year is very unique. While watching it, I kept on expecting it to explode into a huge gang/mafia shootout, but it is so deliberately set that I was very impressed.

I love the new approaches to the old subjects. :)

I never got the chance to see The Help. I will make a note.
