Why does Surrey BC and Escorting in the area have a bad name?

Like many I did not grow up anywhere even close to Vancouver but in high school Surrey was infamous as there was never a shortage of Surrey jokes being passed around or jokes about girls from Surrey, Where did it start ? Who knows. But it probably did not help that the long running show “To serve and protect” showed like 50% footage from Surrey on a weekly basis.

After a few years of living here someone told me about the facebook group page "Only in Surrey". It has uploads such as thefts caught on camera, crackheads/junkies making a mess of things, used needles and stuffing for bras lying on the grass/sidewalk and warnings of child predators out and about. Iv'e talked to some people who live in Surrey and some say it's not that bad or they don't notice much because they live right by an RCMP building.

Surrey is huge and I'm sure theres some nice areas but when I went to Whalley one time by skytrain for fun years ago, I could pick up right away that I was in a sketchy place lol (there was police in and outside of the Skytrain station). Had a pint at the nearest pub and two women who were there dined and dashed (after one pissed her pants on one of the barstools). Felt sorry for the bartender so I tipped him extra.

Not saying there are junkies and scumbags in Burnaby (had my car broken into one night in Burnaby) and New West for example but it seems that the Skytrain funnels them into Surrey. I'm sure they also leave DTES for Surrey to avoid the cops.

Fun fact: You know the dance junkes/crackheads do in DTES is called "The Hastings Shakes"? Over in Whalley it's called "The Whalley Shuffle"!

Islander 1-1 ....Just curious and wondering about the stigma or label that the vancouverites seems to have or maintain for the people of Surrey...

How about the Vancouver boys ? If you were from the same age group .... Were you all aiming for priesthood ? Protecting your virginity to protect future sainthood ? 😳🤨🤔

Kids from East Van used to call the Mount Pleasant area “Snob Hill” in high school.

Around half of my total pooning has been in Surrey/Langley/Abby area. But most of it was when I had just started this hobby. Those days of Tia Luxx, Marissa Fox etc are long gone.
Apart from one incident that was WOM and WOT, I have never had any scary situation, but mind you, I screen extensively. A big thanks to PERB members.

Skyler Mack, Bella Rae, Tiffany (is she still working?), are the ones I have seen in S/L/A last few months. Jewel, I believe is still going strong.

Back in the days when cruising the tracks was much more fruitful than it is in 2022, Surrey was a place to peruse at such time as when police activity was somewhat concentrated on a few of the DTES hot spots, if only to pass time until returning to the DTES.

The concentrated areas for street-walkers in the Surrey business district not far from Whalley and/or the university could be fruitful if one timed a cruise just right (completely by accident) but more probably there would be a concentration of police in the dark-ish, park-ish area that was the epicenter of street walker activity in Surrey. I was always quite patient and aware of my surroundings and it took a whole lot of invested time to be sure the prize I would select in Surrey would be a mutually beneficial encounter.


I recall some of the many tales told by PERB legend, Hatrick, included a few successes had in Surrey, but they too were largely outnumbered by those procured from elsewhere (even when sheer numbers of prospects were factored-in).

Once in a blue moon the always-sought-after Pussy Posse communication would include a reliable number or two from Surrey and surrounds.
