Yep, I had this happen to me too and I was pissed! They somehow got my number like a year and a half ago and the little lady kept talking to them...She thought it was legit and kept telling me about it. I warned her not to listen to them and she said she wasn't. Then I was home one time when they called and I listened to them and I was like WTF...I played along with them like Meaghan's friend, but it just got WAY to hard to understand the thick Indian accent. They claimed they were from Microsoft, and that my computer has been showing several error messages, and that they could help me by removing the virus if I logged into Teamviewer so that they could have remote access to my computer. I knew it was messed up so I didn't even go to my laptop while I was talking to him, and eventually as he was giving me instructions, I said something and hung up on him mid sentence. He called back right away and I told him, thanks very much! It looks my computer is fixed now, I don't need your help anymore! I don't know what you did but it worked! He was confused and asked me to login to confirm lol, and I said thanks I don't need it anymore as I was now sick of him. They finally stopped calling and they had been calling for a couple weeks.
Fast foward to a few months ago, and the phone calls begin again. This time there is no little lady to answer the phone during the day lol, and they are relentless, thinking I am ignoring them. They started with like 3 or 4 per day and then over about a week I would come home and I had a dozen missed calls from them one day, with calls up to like 9:30PM! It was getting crazy and I would have my phone on quiet mode on my days off when I wanted silence. I finally answered again and said simply hello? They went through the spiel again and told me my computer was sending out errors, and they must be cleaned out to ensure proper use of my computer. I feigned shock, telling them, my God, that's so strange! I haven't owned a computer in almost a year and I certainly don't have Internet! My computer broke last year and I haven't replaced it, how are you receiving the errors, this is shocking! Like I said I don't have Internet, or a computer, so I don't know how I can stop you from receiving these error messages? I'm so sorry I can't help you today, it's so weird you are calling me, I haven't even used a computer in months! Thanks for calling though! Thanks a lot, you have a great day! Then I hung up. I did not recieve a call from them for two days. I was shocked lol. Then I got a call from them, thick Indian accent, hello sir we are calling....errors...and I told him pretty much the same but I started asking him how did you get this number, and why are you calling me, I told your "coworker" the other day I don't have a computer, I wish I could help bud, but you're digging in the wrong hole. He got all indignant telling me he is Microsoft and I registered with them and that is why he has the number and that my computer was sending out errors...I explain again, no computer (a lie) and tell him to remove me from "Microsoft's" registration database, because I do not need the help anymore. He said ok ok thank you sir and hung up! I haven't heard from them since but it was so messed up lol. I wondered how they got my number, but I figured they might have come across it randomly, I do have an easy number unfortunately. I never want to give up my number either, so I hope those guys are done now lol.
