The Dairy Whip on Marion does a good Fatboy as well.
Here in Vancouver, it's Vera's for me. Whenever I'm in Arizona or Vegas, it's gotta be In-N-Out
I’ve been a fan of Vera’s since they had literally a shack on the beach in W Van. Two sisters, who I think were twins ran it. People would line up 100 deep to order their burgers. Great way to end a day at the beach on a hot day!
Lately, I’ve been getting my burgers from The Gull in N Van. A choice of two burgers and it’s a coin toss which one is better.

Bin 4 on Granville in Van or multiple locations on the South Island. Fifty percent off burger entrees after 9PM with drink purchase but well worth it any time. There was an even better place in Victoria, Chuck’s Burger Bar, that was almost equally as good a BB joint, but they went out of business due to a sex-assault/coverup case.
Only been once, but definitely a shout out to The American in East Van. Best onion rings I’ve had anywhere and the burgers are great too—I think they’re related to Downlow Chicken Shack.
George's Burgers and Subs in Winnipeg was always a favorite of mine. They recently expanded and opened a new express location in Steinbach where I'm currently working. Talk about good fortune for me, but give it a shot and see for yourself.
If any of you are ever driving along hwy 24, stop at the Iron Horse Pub for a burger. I used to live in large cities, and I will go so far as to say this. No city restaurant makes a burger any better than they do. I used to go for a Sunday motorcycle ride a few times a year, all the way up there, eat, and then ride 4 hours back home. By the way for those of you who don't ride, nothing better than your girlfriend on the back, arms around you, 1 hand playing with your package while you cruise along.
VJ Special is the best for me.
Five Guys is over rated, not much different from home made.
Harvey’s is solid #2.
Dairi Whip was always my go to for a Fat Boy growing up in the St. Boniface area. Another Greek style burger place that is really solid is Dairy Delight in St. Vital.
Just watched a documentary last night on hamburgers.... Invented in Wichita Kansas by a guy who found a way to fast grill meatballs by flattening them. White Castle Hamburger joints.

In Winnipeg here. I like George's as well. The old George's on Ness Ave being the best one in my opinion. The express locations do a decent job with the burgers, but the gravy for my fries changes from location to location, and Ness does gravy the best. The Burger Place on Portage Ave also does a bad ass fatboy, and the owners there are awesome to their customers as well!! The best burger I EVER had though was from a truck on the shore of the Yukon River in Whitehorse, YK.
If you go to 5 Guys, order the small fries. They will give you small fries, then dump additional fries into your bag. Everytime.
Haven't been there in several years now but White Spot at least, Used to, have a good burger..... Hmmmm I wonder where Nat Bailey got the name White Spot.... similar to White Castle???
Has something to do with a white spot patch of grass in the lower mainland I believe?
