Has something to do with a white spot patch of grass in the lower mainland I believe?
The original White Spot shack literally had a big white circle painted on its roof. Thus 'White Spot' is what people called it.

Best burger in Vancouver is served at the Alibi Room. It's a sleeper of a place for best burger but it's true.

Other places listed here in Vancouver are good but more has more going in terms of "nostalgia" or "gimmicks" than most would like to admit.

Haven't been there in several years now but White Spot at least, Used to, have a good burger..... Hmmmm I wonder where Nat Bailey got the name White Spot.... similar to White Castle???
White Castle burgers are kinda of gross. I'll eat them but they're best when drunk or high or both.

Ah, the best burger thing. It is elusive and it comes and goes. I do recall a lamb burger with gorgonzola cheese on a toasted onion bun at the Libra Room on Commercial ...
And if we can ever travel again, I am going to try to get into this guy's restaurant in NYC:

The Island
Victoria: Big Wheel Burger

I’ve tried to like Bin 4 - been multiple times - but too ‘sloppy’ for me in that always just fall apart when trying to eat as they pack so much stuff on there ..
Oh - and the mice running around the patio of the Blanchard location was concerning too !

I enjoy Romers best, but I don't mind Red Robins for a sit in greasy burger experience. I also enjoy Wendy's, but that's more a childhood nostalgia thing for me as I lived nearby one growing up. OuT of town I've loved shake shack, Whataburger, and InNout.

The Alibi Room does make a great burger. And you can get great beer with it, which makes it better.

For when I don't care, I usually hit up Five Guys.

But when I have time, this new place in Kits called Mimi's, they do smash burgers.

Also my absolute fave is the one from The Pourhouse. Its perfect. Medium rare, draped in cheese, thick slice of pork belly instead of bacon gives it more body and changes the flavour a bit. I believe its fried onions and and aioli for dressing. All ona nice potato bun
