The beautiful Fraser Valley !
Well It's starting all over again Today !

Last Years predictions played out, with a few Twists, for sure !
https://perb.cc/vbulletin/showthread.php?236158-2017-Stanley-Cup-Predictions

I think the ultimate Prognosticator last Year, was for sure Peyton Alexander ! That Woman knows her Hockey better, than I could ever hope to . Her impeccable Round by Round forecasts, were very impressive !

I'm going to stick with the Penguins, for a Threepeat .

The 1st Team with a possibility, since the 82 Islanders, ironically at the expense of Canucks . I actually went to one of the Games against the Flames, as a Teenager .
That was a Hell of a Run, until They met the Islanders !
Too much of a Powerhouse Team, coached by one of the best in NHL History .
Jesus, where'd 35 Years slip by ? LOL

But, I digress .

My sentimental Canadian dark horse, is the Jets .
One of my favorite Lady's, Hometown team .
She looks so fabulous in that Jets shirt, and she's a Paid Advertiser !
I should be able to post a Pic ?

Hopefully, she's wearing it on Thursday, to support such a tragic Loss ?

Regrettably, Andrew Ladd is no longer with the Jets, as He understandably chose the Cash over the Glory ?
Ironically, with the Islanders . He brought his last couple Cups, Back to BC, for Us locals to enjoy !

Good luck Perbers, with your Predictions !

Cheers

Okay, I'll play.

Round 1:

Tampa Bay vs New Jersey - I'll take the Lightning
Boston vs Toronto - I'll pick the Bruins
Washington vs Colombus - I have to pick the BJs... :D But seriously, this is my pick for dark horse, round 1 upset -- so, yes, I'm actually taking the Blue Jackets
Pittsburgh vs Philadelphia - Penguins

Nashville vs Colorado - I'm picking the Predators
Winnipeg vs Minnesota - Go Jets go! :D
Vegas vs Los Angeles - Kings
Anaheim vs San Jose - Go Sharks go! :)

I have not watched a hockey game since 2 lockouts ago but that does not mean I dont hear stuff on the radio.

I say Vegas takes the cup.It is a team of 24+ guys who were cast aside by their respective teams as they were deemed expendable.Funny enough they got on the frequency and had as far as I know the best ever season for a new franchise expansion team in the history of the NHL.That takes GUTS and a lot of hunger to win and win they did.

When you get down to brass tacks in the race for the Stanley Cup the team that is the hungriest and wants it the most WINS it.

I say the victory laps with the Stanley Cup hoisted high will be done by Vegas and the guys every team in the NHL deemed "not worth protecting"

As far as the playoffs, there's always what I want versus what I predict.

I want to see a Jets / Leafs final, with the Jets winning the cup. I normally hate the Leafs, but they are still a Canadian team, and for Gary Bettman seeing Canada vs. Canada final would be like swallowing a fistful of thumbtacks.
I really do not want the Bruins to win anything, ever.

I can see the Leafs, Penguins, Lightning, and Capitals moving on past the 1st round, but after that I don't know. The Pens could repeat as champs. Leafs might go as far as round 3, but I'd be surprised if they made the finals.

I can see Winnipeg and San Jose winning their first rounds. I am not yet convinced that Vegas can beat LA (not until we see how Vegas can handle the playoffs), but Vegas has been a surprise all year so I do not want to predict anything there. I have a weird feeling the Avs might upset the Predators, but if the Preds knock them out easily, maybe the west will come down to either Jets or Predators.

Are Canucks in the playoffs this year?
Not even close.

They even blew the goal of being last for a better draft pick.

Tampa - NJ is just in by the skin of their teeth. They don't have the depth to go anywhere.
Toronto - lesser of two evils IMO. Anytime a Boston Team loses is a good thing!
Washington - Could be a tough series. CBJ are a pain to many teams.
Pittsburgh - Philly is happy to be there and this could be a good series but Pens will win it most likely 5 games.

Nashville - Colorado is lucky to be there. Nashville is strong again this year and may go to the final.
Winnipeg - Jets will win based upon skilled play and hard-nosed effort.
Las Vegas Baby - Been a top team disciplined all year long. They have put together a great team with scoring from many.
San Jose - This is a Pick em choice. Could go 7 games.

Well Jesus H Christ look at at.....he Vegas Knights just scrubbed the LA Kings in 4 games straight with a fucking SWEEP....not only has Vegas achieved the best ever first season as a new NHL franchise expansion team they have knocked off a Stanley Cup winning team that took the fucking silver in the last 5 years......that says HUNGRY to me.

I was SHOCKED that Vegas swept the Kings. Didn't see that coming. I hasd actually picked the Kings to win in 7, based on the team's past experience.

For some reason, I think this might be the Capitals years. Don't know why, but just do. If they can punch through the first two rounds, they may get stopped in the 3rd but even if they do make the finals, I don't think they will beat Nashville (my pick to win it all).

Jets will have success but the Preds will dispatch them in round 2 in 6 games. Preds just have their number.

Surprised to see the nastiest series so far has been Lighning and Devils. Lightning should make it to round 3 but maybe not much further.

The beautiful Fraser Valley !
Round 2 starting Today !

Hockey Superstars Showdown...
Syd the Kid vs The Great 8 !
Penguins & Capitals
Should be close, but, I think the Penguins have the depth to take it in 6 Games .

Knights & Sharks
Vegas is living the Dream !
That should continue, and I think, They'll drowned the Sharks in 6 Games .

Jets & Predators, This should be a tight series, and probably go to 7 Games ?
Still giving the Jets the Nod, Go Jets Go !
Thank God, the Leafs are out, and Hughson will be doing the Play by Play !

Lightning & Bruins
If Tampa, can stay out of injury problems, They should be able to put the Run on Boston .
Sorry Cam, I know, what about the Hometown connection ? LOL

Cheers

P.S. I too, would have liked to have seen Bettman, have to swallow more than a Mouthful of Tacks ! LOL

hmm not bad, 7 out of 8 called right.

Round Two

Tampa v Boston - Tampa in 6 games
Washington v Pittsburgh - Pens in 6 games
Winnipeg v Nashville. This one is tough and will go 7 games with Preds taking it.
Las Vegas v San Jose - Las Vegas will win this series.

Double M, deserves an honorable Mention, on his Picks too !

You just picked the wrong Darkhorse ?
Too much faith, in the Capitals history, of choking in the Playoffs ? LOL

My dislike of any Boston team bit me in the ass

It's going to be interesting going forward to round 3.

Maybe Fullhouse will get his Western Final - Nashville v Las Vegas?
