https://perb.cc/vbulletin/showthrea...ially-Add-your-ideas-how-it-s-best-done/page5I have sat in groups of women of all races, religions, ages and gender orientations and the discussions tend to veer toward, men, marriage, and weddings, (what kind of wedding would you have? a simple beach side ceremony, or the white dress affair?) and if you think what I wrote up there is an example of insulting stereotyping, then you have a queer perspective of women.
Sure, some of us older gals have bypassed the traditional, but even we can be twitterpated when we see a handsome dude climb out of a posh car and throw us a dazzling smile...we still get that brief flash of "happy ever after"... yep, even in our dotage we seem compelled to find a partner.
Consider that Asian ladies grow up in a culture which values traditional marriage, to the point that being unmarried is somehow a shame to the family (heard all about it from the Japanese gal whose younger sister married first) and remember that most of these Asian sps families don`t really know what they`re doing (they just work hard in Canada and come home with enough money to buy the family farm...wink, wink), then pause to understand that snagging a husband here is a coup (I know, I know...I can`t figure that part either....like, men here are better than anywhere else?)
Marriage is on our minds...traditional or non traditional...
Pondering mimi`s spirited contribution to our friendly debate about joys and challenges of taking Asian SPs out socially, the question haunting me is, "Are women really as marriage-crazy as mimi says they are?"
If so, you`d think a relatively observant guy like me would have noticed more of this throughout my life.
It`s not that I experienced no matrimonial interest at all—but none from ladies that had the qualities I`d consider necessary for something lasting: a woman who`s emotionally warm, intellectually stimulating, physically attractive, sexually hot, totally crazy about me—and willing to let me have sexual variety.
But a big idea is taking shape in my mind about how to take more determined steps to convert women`s interest (and that of Asian ladies in particular) into lays.
I`ve decided to get a button with a message custom-made, which I`ll wear when going out, including to micros. http://www.google.ca/search?q=butto...2Fcatalog%2Fvegan-message-buttons.htm;599;422
To optimize the impact of my message, I humbly ask resident PERB experts for advice. Which message would be best to put on such a button? The following are three possibilities:
"Looking to get married. To YOU."
"This man may want to marry you. TREAT ME NICE."
"YOU might just be the one I`ll marry."
I`m planning to have both English and Mandarin versions of this button. It should be a conversation piece, if nothing else.
I know my "button" approach is maybe laying it on a bit thick. But if mimi is right, shouldn`t it trigger women`s evolutionary or cultural programming in a way so as to give them more incentive to go out and put out?
