Hey guys 'n dolls!

I am traveling to the UK for leisure in a few days, but am considering working a little over there as well.

I was originally headed to Wales but a change in plans has me off to Heathrow and then staying in Northampton.

Do any ladies have any experience doing a brief stint in the UK? Or perhaps some of you Gents can share some experience from the other end of things?
I checked out backpage - there appears to be mostly agencies out that way...

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Hey Heidi, I hobbied in London, England a while ago and liked it. The Brittish have a reputation for being stuffy and uptight but I found them to be the opposite. Many of the women in the business are from other countries.

Pay for play is ubiquitous and more openly accepted than it is here. I'd sugest that you start by signing on with a reputable agency that can help you with the local ways of doing business.

A lot of independents and some agency girls use adultwork.com. You have to start on that site by navigating into the UK section.

BBFS is more common there than it is here, although I never partook of course. Of 18,665 SPs on the UK adultwork, 1,324 advertise BBFS on their list of activities.

Xoxo back at you

Hey, I lived in the UK for 3 years. I used adultwork.com to find reputable escorts. keep in mind, most men who see escorts give more honest reviews on ukpunting.com (which is a separate and reputable forum). So you should make sure good reviews are being left for you on ukpunting.com

Well London - it was a slice! 9 hours of detainment at Heathrow airport (complete with cavity search) only to be suspected of terrorism because I had not yet booked a return flight and could not offer a detailed itinerary of my activities while there! Sheesh, Britain! In Canada, we call that 'going with the flow' - you uptight, paranoid wankers!
'We cannot tell you when we will release you, but please help yourself to some refreshments or a spot of tea while we turn your belongings inside out and interrogate this other young lady from your flight who is also clearly a terrorist because she smells like patchouli and also failed to produce a return ticket..'
I was then offered two options. 4 more days in detainment so that Iceland Air could send me home to Vancouver - or cough up £800 on the spot and take the first flight out to Iceland.... 'But please do feel free to come back and visit once you have returned to Canadian soil!'
So here I am in Keflavik, fuck you very much.
Hmmm...where to next?
Anyone have any advice for a wandering Canadian in Iceland?
Ps. It is freaking COLD here

peter mckay must have gotten there first...

from the website '100 countries and their prostitution laws'

http://prostitution.procon.org/view.resource.php?resourceID=000772#iceland

45. Iceland
Population: 306,694
Excerpts including Chapter XXII on Sexual Offences from the General Penal Code of Iceland

Prostitution: Limited Legality
Selling sexual services is legal. Paying for sexual services is illegal.

In 2007, buying and selling sexual services was legalized as long as third parties did not profit from the earnings of prostitutes. In Apr. 2009 the Icelandic Parliament passed legislation to prohibit paying for prostitution.

Brothel Ownership: Illegal

Pimping: Illegal

Centre for Gender Equality, "A New Law Makes Purchasing Sex Illegal in Iceland," www.jafnretti.is, Apr. 21, 2009
"The Icelandic Parliament has passed a new legislation which makes paying for prostitution illegal. Those caught paying for prostitution could face a fine or up to one year in prison...

Iceland is the third country to outlaw the purchase of prostitution. Sweden was the first country to ban the buying of sex in 1999 and Norway followed suit earlier this year. In Finland, a ban on purchasing sexual services from victims of human trafficking was introduced in 2007.

Before this change in legislation, selling and buying sexual services was legal in Iceland. Selling sex was illegal in the country until 2007, when a change in the general penal code decriminalized prostitutes and criminalized profiting on the prostitution of others.

Opinion polls have shown that up to 70% of the population supports banning the purchase of sexual services."

Howdy Heidi, I doubt I'm the only guy who is curious about your recent adventure/misadventure. Your hometeam is in your corner, girl. Update us if you want to.

I've never been to Iceland but that country fascinates me. With a population less than Surrey's it has it's own legal system, education system, parliament, Coast Guard. . . everything. I don't know how they do it.

There is an important takeaway from this thread in case anyone missed it. Whenever you're entering another country, be sure to have a return flight, an itinerary and a conspicuous reason for being there.

I'd like to add another. To enter, some countries require a passsport that is valid six months past your planned date of departure. I've heard of people being denied entry with a valid passport that is soon to expire.

And of course, some countries require proof of vaccinations and proof of international medical coverage to be granted entry.

I obviously don't know anything about Heidi's situation specifically or if these things applied in her case, but stuff that will red flag to Customs include:

1. Single unattached female.
2. Travelling alone.
3. One way ticket.
4. No obvious/declared means of support while away from home country e.g. Job, friends, family, etc.

These flags are sometimes indicators of trafficking or mule activity be it human/drugs/money, etc. and so tend to be worthy of further investigation. Customs have remarkable powers of inspection including your phone, laptop, bank accounts etc. to establish you have a legitimate reason for entering, staying in the country, and supporting yourself while there (including medical coverage).

This is not unique to UK - US and Canada border control have similar inspection procedures, although UK will be particularly sensitive to it because of trafficking from EU countries.

Even with a return ticket, if you pay for the option of being able to change the return flight day , they can see that in system and still red flag you for other reasons listed above. At least I believe so, from my a source who told me when he was figuring out the best way to get his girlfriend here without problems. He bought a return ticket with no change of flight option then just ate the money for the return as she never left.
The show border security is pretty informative.

Be safe out there .....

One way ticket is an immediate red flag. You might be permanently flagged now as someone trying to sneak in. I would not risk going back again.
Never enter a country without a specific date for exit on your ticket. As Lady Via said, a changable date=no date. Heidi would probably not get into Canada under similar circumstances.

I have never had a problem at Heathrow or Gatwick.

I used to work in the U.S. with the proper work visa. I gave up the visa and work here full time now. I'm guessing that's a red flag for them to ensure I'm not still working with an out of date visa.

The times I left the end of my trip open for R&R afterwards were always the most difficult for me to enter the U.S.

I've missed flights from YVR and connections via YYZ a few times. U.S. Immigration were oh well maybe you will get there tomorrow sort of attitude.

Now I always have a fixed return date even if I have to break it and pay extra.

U.S. Border Services are most definitely not a fun bunch. Visited Tiajuana from San Diego once with a friend and coming back, we were loaded. My friend bumped the computer screen and wound up shutting down the system (all-in-one PC). The agent did not see the humor in it. It was an accident, but it sure took a lot to convince him of that and let us cross back into the US.
