What's so bad about using texting apps with SP's? What am I missing?

Actually 99.999% is a bit of an exaggeration. 98% is more realistic. I've had a few rare cases of prospective clients switching to their real phone numbers or email after I declined to book him with his app number, paying his deposit and following through with the booking.
I actually don't check if it's an app number or a real number; but that's because I require screening like a deposit and stuff. maybe I should check lol
lol i feel awkward asking this question but it`ll satisfy my curiosity. How does one check if it's an app number or real number? I mean besides the obvious numbers of the 999 999 9999 or whatever ...
i've read from other provider's tweets etc that using app numbers are inconsistent, ie losing appointments etc etc but i totally thought people had a prepaid burner phone all this time haha
peoplebyname.com identifies the carrier. You can then look up if carrier legit or text app provider

also a black guy that rob my money after finish the service, and a guy that wrote whore in ??? room in my building lobby, all from text apps.
so now on everytime i check their carrier are iristel or distributel i just ignore or ask them use real number kindly no matter what reason they give me (my privacy, i am married or other BS)

The flip side of that is SP's using apps.
It happened at least two or even three times last year. In all cases some messages from both sides would just not get delivered. Or rather, they would show delivered but would not make it to the other side.

Text apps are glitchy
I’ve allowed a few clients to switch to apps after their initial booking but then a few times this sort of issue happened

I use a text app and id where I live in the lower mainland to provide legitimacy. I have wondered if my messages go through at times as I don't get a response. I would use my own phone with unknown number to phone but I would never text with it as the number cannot be hidden. I can't risk the discretion texting apps provide.
I agree, I have communicated to many ladies that use apps. I need the discretion text apps provide. I would never use my real phone unless ladies accept calls from an unknown number. Thats another puzzle. Why won't ladies accept calls from unknown numbers? It would only take a question or two to determine if the person is legit.
Hi Debbie, I would think there are clients who use either regular or burner phones that don't show up for appts. as well. My communication to ladies is only through my text app making it discreet communication between me and them. Its best I don't mess up our first appointment. ??

I'm sorry, but this comparison of us using apps to clients using apps is not the same. If Charlee or Miss Hunter use a texting you still literally know it is them because they are reputable providers. Now, if you're toftt you can make your own judgement of the situation with an unknown provider, but clients are always unknown until we've met them or they provide references and other screening. It's always amusing to me that clients try to act that their at the same risk as us.
Text apps show location as somewhere not in the lower mainland. By informing you of my location in the lower mainland gives me "some" credibility. Maybe enough to at least get a reply. Thats what I meant in questioning. We are talking about discretion and safety. There are absolutely no reassurances I or you will get that without references or a means of determining background and legitimacy. The reason I can't use my real phone number is for my discretion, not yours. The reason I use text apps is again, for my discretion not yours. I refuse to buy burner phones as it implicates me. So how do you think I should contact you? Email? Or by building a bridge of "texting trust".
