What is your guys take on tipping?

Hey guys,
I wanted to get some opinions on tipping for sessions.

I’m originally from a country where tipping isn’t really the norm, but since moving to Canada I’ve been adjusting to the culture. Still, this part confuses me a bit.

Example: I had a half-hour appointment, rate was $250. Service was solid — not mind-blowing, but definitely enjoyable. When it came time to pay, I gave $280 (sometimes I’ve even gone up to $300) because I feel a bit guilty just handing over the agreed amount.

But realistically, $250 was the price we agreed on. Am I overthinking this? How do you guys usually approach tipping in these situations?

Id like to believe that people charge what they think is fair, but like it or not, a lot of SWs have to charge what the market will bear, and so undervalue their time because “we” won’t pay the fair rate.

They have lots of costs associated with their work, advertising (here, tryst, ll…), rent, decorating the place, pedicures, beauty products, all that stuff.

I’m hoping I tipped the last time I visited someone (😅) but in general, I’d say tip, because more than likely you’re getting a deal, even if you think you’re not..

Nothing expected beyond the agreed on donation. It's a nice little bonus if you feel they went above and beyond the call of duty, or you're feeling just plain generous. Amounts vary as to what you feel they deserve, standard service industry rate of 15%-25% can be applied in this situation.

I just round up. So if she advertises 350/hr I just give 1,000.

Advertises 450/hr....that's 1,000.

Advertises 80/ massage....yep...that's a 1,000
