What does it mean when a SP suddenly raises her rate from $300 to $600?

I saw an ad where her rates became $600 overnight when it was $300 before.
Are they suddenly that much more in demand, an emergency happened and she needs money ASAP, or her services got so much better?

I've seen other new SPs ask for $500 plus an hour and then adjust it to something more reasonable later

It generally means two things. First, she's delusional. Second, there's a sucker born every minute.

It's simple. Every provider has the absolute right to charge what they see as reasonable for their time and services. Just because you (not specifically, just the general you) disagree with it doesn't make their valuation wrong. It is their choice.

In return you are not forced to pay said provider that rate if you think it is unreasonable. There are plenty of amazing SPs at every price point. You can easily find someone within your budget without demeaning the value one places on their bodies.

Informing a provider that they're "delusional" for charging what they do is immature and pretty derogatory. It is nothing more than being mean for the sake of being mean. I assure you, drive by comments by people who have no intention of booking are disregarded. Not to be blunt but your opinion isn't law.

It makes sense to charge as much as people are willing to pay and it probably takes some tinkering to figure out how much that is.

Ha ha very simple.. I would say avoid avoid avoid .. but I speak for myself I know how to spend my earned dollars more wisely when it come to this hobby many other options out there but for others maybe that doesn't matter....

Valuation is set by marketplace as a whole. Supplier, consumer, market environment, many other factors. Adam Smith recognised the value of prostitutes in one of his books.

There is a name for this kind of illusory pseudo elite pricing but I cannot remember it.

When I first started in the consulting game, I naively thought that if I kept my rates "reasonable", clients would be appreciative and loyal. Nope. All it meant was that they placed a low value on my services, and whenever they felt that they needed to go first-class, they hired somebody more expensive. Now my rates are higher than I would have ever imagined when I was starting out. Those who think I charge too much simply look elsewhere, and don't clutter up my life. I can completely understand why an SP might adopt a similar attitude.

Exactly. For me, when a lady raises her rates it means she is in too high demand and has too many inquiries. So she ups her rate to slow down the influx of requests, but the orice increase can make up for the lack of visits. But usually providers go up by 50-100. Doubling it overnight means silence imo

Serious Answer: Because she knows she can get it and higher rates usually keeps some freaks away. I recently saw a girl for about 240 and the night before our date she hiked it to 270 or something and then I was told she raised it to $300. All within about ten days. I guess she was testing the market. She tested and .......... brought it down.

Attempt At Humor: She adjusts her price according to the gas prices. It jumped up recently. So hopefully she will come back to her old rates once the Harvey and Korean crisis passes.

Why don't you just call her up and ask her yourself? No better way than going directly to the source if it is that important.
We could speculate forever........and in fact have, in other threads that you yourself (I'm pretty sure) have participated in.
Your second comment regarding a "reasonable" adjustment down from $500 seems quite subjective- and implies your outlook towards a particular SP's perceived self worth, and overall that you don't agree with an overnight rate hike.
SPs can charge what they want, when they want and to whomever they want.
At least IMO.

I'd be interested to hear her two hour rate.

Some SP just don't like doing 60 minutes or less and price it accordingly. They usually want a minimum of 120 min. Some I've seen are $600 an hour but I only do $750 two hours.

Good point: I can think of one very popular & well reviewed young lovely whose website states her 1 hour rate is $600, but her 2 hour rate is $700, I think.
