This is more like European politics, not US, but it sure does not stop US right wing youtubers from acting like it is even their business.Part of the conversation was on "Should migrants become part of the culture of their new country". Shared values, institutions etc.
I'll only say that Europe is confronting this issue on a different level / from a different standpoint than the "settler" societies of North America or Australia / NZ really have a right to (except for the indigenous).
Europe is hardening its attitudes in general, in sometimes disturbing ways, but which cannot be simply dismissed as partisan foulness (even if that is how it is exploited).
For the Irish, they are confronted by the fact that until recently, they were accustomed to migrants fleeing Ireland not rushing to join it. They are a very small population to begin with, so huge flows affect them more.
