I didn't shoot my mouth off about how terrible the US is. Anyway. Trump thinks he will be president forever. Seriously considering a 3rd term which will take him into his mid-eighties. After which Don Junior has plans of stepping up.I've visited the US twice in the last three years. Once to Hawaii and once on a tour of the east coast. Had a great time with zero problems. I would go the US tomorrow if the exchange rate wasn't so bad. Why is it so bad? It's bad because the Liberals have destroyed the Canadian economy. I don't care what Trump says. He trolled the media and Canadian politicians.
The Liberals used this with classic divert and distract tactics. The Americans are going to invade Canada! Someone needs to stop them. Elbows up! Seriously? It's an embarrassing time to be Canadian. There is very little Carney can do because the Liberals are in a very weak position because of the mess they've made. I'm not saying roll over and give in to the US regarding tariffs etc. Negotiate the best you can without resorting to the usual lies and hyperbole. Unfortunately the Liberals aren't capable of this so we will have to tough it out until they're gone. Last thing to remember, Trump will not be President forever. Maybe think long term before you shoot your mouth off about how terrible the US is.
Not going to defend Friggin Trudeau junior.
Anyway. Harper was no bargain when he was enjoying his secretive reign of power.
During the period of the Harper government (2006-15), real GDP growth was markedly slower than during the preceding 22 years, a result of the sharp recession that occurred from the fourth quarter of 2008 to the second quarter of 2009, and of the period of sluggish recovery that followed1. In 2009, Stephen Harper announced a series of budgetary measures aimed at curtailing the effects of the Great Recession in Canada, marketed as "Canada's Economic Action Plan"2. However, Harper's initial response to the recession was criticized as fumbling, and nearly led to the loss of his government
