I've visited the US twice in the last three years. Once to Hawaii and once on a tour of the east coast. Had a great time with zero problems. I would go the US tomorrow if the exchange rate wasn't so bad. Why is it so bad? It's bad because the Liberals have destroyed the Canadian economy. I don't care what Trump says. He trolled the media and Canadian politicians.
The Liberals used this with classic divert and distract tactics. The Americans are going to invade Canada! Someone needs to stop them. Elbows up! Seriously? It's an embarrassing time to be Canadian. There is very little Carney can do because the Liberals are in a very weak position because of the mess they've made. I'm not saying roll over and give in to the US regarding tariffs etc. Negotiate the best you can without resorting to the usual lies and hyperbole. Unfortunately the Liberals aren't capable of this so we will have to tough it out until they're gone. Last thing to remember, Trump will not be President forever. Maybe think long term before you shoot your mouth off about how terrible the US is.

Trump will not be President forever and 300 million people did not "fuck themselves up the ass". These are your opinions. Trump may think he will be President forever but in fact he won't be.
You know that so I wonder what your point is. The US constitution doesn't allow for a third term. I've read alot of crazy theories about how he could have a third term and they're pretty entertaining. I guess people can dream about it or fearmonger but it just isn't going to happen. I guess he could just declare himself King and call it a day.

Well nobody in their right mind thought he would get elected to a second term, so don't count your chickens. I think my opinion that 300 million voters fucked themselves up the ass is sort of proving itself given the first 100 days. The consequences haven't fully come to roost yet. Give it time.

So blame them but also the Democrat couch potatoes that stayed home because by my count , Trump won by about less than 150000 votes in the swing states of Michigan , Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. … had they gone Democrat , Harris would have finished at exactly 270 electoral votes, and we wouldn’t be talking about Orange Julius every single fuckin day

I remember the pink pussy toque protesters crying in 2016. When questioned if they had actually voted, many said "no, but that's not the point" or words to that effect.

And as far as more as more Republicans voting for Trump , it depends on the state , if it’s traditionally red then it doesn’t make a difference , what matters is winning the swing states. You're right about one thing, numbers don't lie. In 2024 Trump won a majority in the electoral college and he won the popular vote. As far as it being a stupid system, it's was the same stupid system when Biden got elected. You can't have it both ways.

That story is absolute lazy reporting BS. The trade war is not affecting business in Washington; the conscious decision of people to not go to the US is the cause, and that's because people like many posters here keep advocationg for people to not visit the US, or do business there. If any of you used to go to the US and have now chosen to not patronize businesses across the line you are the direct cause of those businesses suffering.

Those were stories about Point Roberts; not Washington state.
People aren't going to the U.S. due to the 51st state crap being bandied about, not because "people like many posters here keep advocating for people to not visit the US". Also the current treatment of Canadians crossing the border. Even being stopped and searched when returning to Canada (we should actually thank the Border Patrol for their diligence in protecting Canada).

The guys the first politician to literally do everything he said he would do if he was elected. Biden was so much better? Carney's been PM for 2 mths and nothing he has said or done has any honesty and integrity. Hate trump all you want but your hatred blinds you from any good he's done and doing. You gotta take a reminder course in economics about the CDN $ vs US $ value or US $ vs world currencies before talking about it with chewed up rhetoric from right podcasts and conservative party .

As for trump statements being a joke or trolling ....like anything else...once its funny, twice it's risible, third time boring and anytime after it becomes an obsession that nobody laughs at and triggers concerns about the mental health of that person ( village idiot type of concern at first ) after that it keeps escalating.

- lack of investment in equipment
The last two explains our diminished productivity vs the US in the last decades ~50 years. Nothing new here

Name one thing Trump has really done, he has spent almost all his time enriching the Trump organization, he makes millions just golfing as he charges premium rates for his security to stay at his resorts etc, not to mention his crypto, Mideast hotel deals, golf resort, it goes on and on. Nearly eliminated illegal immigration, crime rates are already down, gangs are being eliminated, funding is being held accountable, woman no longer have to compete with men in woman's sports and change in bathrooms with male genitalia, fuel costs and inflation are already down, government spending cuts and streamlining federal organizations, reduced tax plans already in place, poisons been removed from processed foods, trillions of dollars committed to be invested in America from international countries, and the biggest one, peace in the middle east. Your talking points come from tabloids like The View and MSNBC Rachel Maddow. There's been 2 assassination attempts on him and you're questioning his spending in security? The crypto was from before he was president.

Now, you were saying im deaf dumb and blind? Trump's far from perfect, I don't like him on a personal level, but those types of politics are over. He is respected and feared internationally. Note the difference when he enters a country vs when Carney does. They celebrate his welcome where when Carney arrives not one official goes to meet him at the airport and he gets no welcome or escort. Canada has become a communist joke internationally and you keep your head buried in the sand and blame Trump bcs Canada has became reliant on America due to terrible planning and taking their allies for granted. America doesn't owe Canada anything. Canada should be it's own super power but we refuse to use our natural resources to strengthen our economy.
