They are socialist states with capitalist companies that pay taxes. Also since they are small counties, their infrastructure is smaller.

Compared to Canada, our infrastructure is big (roads, buildings, heating etc). Hospitals, Fire halls, police stations etc.

A look at Finland, because they are on the border of Russia, ever since WW2 (last 80 years they have been building underground refuges for wartime). What have Canadians been doing, sitting around with their hands open for welfare and social assistance with our thumbs up our butts.

Canadians spend more on Aboriginals then they do on the Military.
Which is why the military is so deplorable today.
Woke policies have torn the basic infrastructure of military discipline apart. Harassment programming has killed military discipline.
If you want your Canadian way of life to be better or the same, then you will have to fight, even kill on a battlefield like our ancestors did in WW2. Can't have any bleeding heart pussies (Lilberals) on the battlefield, you need killers. And that is the problem with the military today, they are not killers....Frustrated with policy change and lack of equipment and training, you now have fat, overweight, undisciplined assholes who retreat to harrasment and conflict of interest training cause they can't get their way. The kinder gentler army....... The senior leadership of the CAF for the last 30 years have been the problem, they let government policies that conflict with troop moral.... Or the goal of kicking ass on the battlefield....
For all fat and overweight personal, they will go out in the field and eat MREs till they are in shape and don't look fat....
FAT training consists of 3 months in tents (despite weather conditions), 2 MRE a day, 10 km walk in morning, a 5 km walk in afternoon, PT in morning and afternoon.

My father was a WW 2 veteran as were many of his friends, in all branches. They had minimal if any actual training. They were in shape because they were under 20. Most of us were in shape at that age as well. The thing they all had in common was youth. My Dad was 16 years old. They were not killing machines, they went for the adventure of it all. Their enemy was just like them young and scared shitless. As I recall they were all pretty much bleeding heart woke pussy liberals. Maybe war taught them something.

They experienced and saw things as teenagers we cannot imagine. They came back much more tolerant and open minded. My father would talk about how black US service men were treated by their own comrades with great sadness. If that made him woke.....so be it.

Anyhow…by far the worst is the afterwards part. All this macho killing machine bullshit is just that, bullshit. It affects you forever.
Some compartmentalise it and never talk.Others spend every day at the Legion or Army and Navy talking about the time some guy threw up in the back of the lav.
I don’t know which way is best. Painting over it and pretending it was all great times and adventures or just locking it away in a dark corner. I know some of each who’ve offed themselves.

Basic training used to weed the week ones out. Now it dosen't. Do recruits get yellow and red cards to give if they are having a bad day....
Ever heard of the term shit-pumps. It applies to an individual who creates 90% of the paperwork for a section.
When you have a army, you need to think in terms of mean lean fighting machines. Not pampered paperpushers, who constantly go to conflict training because they have a issue with their superior.... woke policies create shit soldiers.

Yes it takes 6-9 person to put 1 person in the field. but it takes a whole country to support a war..... So there are support personal, and their are people who go to war. They get the job done.

In the book "Tarnished Brass", there is a story about the gulf war, where the unit commander wanted to get an A/C unit for the Warehouse in Dubai (outside of town in the desert), denied. Yet at the same time members of the civilian support team at DND had a retreat to recover from the stress of working late.

This is where governments are at. Don't support troops in the field, but have retreats for civilians whose lives are not at risk. Even today with the troops over in Latvia, there were stories about pay for the troops, that was something that should of been done before troops got deployed (that s on the military side of DND).
