For the first time in months, I have stopped digging in my bunker. Even thinking about re-patriating a case of beans and a couple jug of water back to the house. Already brought the batteries back in, with all these stormy nights.

A few weeks in, and the world hasn't ended. Yet. I'm still keeping the bunker in ready mode, but have downgraded the alert from red to amber. Just like on the old Star Trek, that annoying audible alarm has stopped sounding every second.

Sure, some appointments are a little concerning, but policy wise I am hearing more moderate talk about relevant things. Probable shit-show closer to inaug-day, but the shocked dem-crats, biased press, and "bullying" hollywood crowd are having to suck it up and tone it down now that they have lost. Obama's being a gentleman and a statesman in the transition. Hillary is conspicuously absent, just like on election night. Ouch! Her supporters deserved better than a no-show. But all in all, things could be a lot worse. Now gotta go check the sump pump in my bunker. Never know when the heavy rains will turn biblical on us.

Hillary is conspicuously absent
This is a sentiment that really puzzles me. She did her concession speech. What else is there to expect? After Obama won didn't Romney fall off the map for a while too?

If she kept rallying people would just be calling her a sore loser who can't face reality.

Hey Punt...just a thought about this election. First time in history that a billionaire will move into public housing vacated by a black family. Times they are a changing.

Running for the Senator (or Governor ) before running for president? That is the rule rather than the exception. Anyways, you said Hillary was just floating around, pretty laughable when you look at her career record.

All Ex-presidents of the US make gobs of money doing speaking engagements, at least in modern history. Did you criticized George Bush Sr. making money when his son planned to run for president?
Yes, and all (well...most anyway) ex-presidents have immense influence on party politics even though removed from White House. It is all wrong. Just because all the other ones do it doesn't make it right. And especially if an ex-prez's wife is about to make a serious run at getting in.

And yeah...if you think I was railing on Killary here, that ain't nothing compared to the hate I showed for Bush Jr. before, during and after his reign of terror. Worst President of the US ever and should be sitting in a jail cell for life if there was a just world.

You're comment implies that I have a hard on for Republicans and a hate on for Democrats which is anything but true. They're both corrupt and the system is busted. Personally I think Trump is a joke and the idea that he even got elected is laughable. I truly believe that if the Democrats ran a female monkey against Trump we would have had our first female president of the US - but instead they chose a crook to run when all the evidence of her wrongdoing was already being leaked about.

What is even more of a joke is the media going on about the Russians "influencing the election". Yeah, its alarming that foreign states might be hacking into government files. But these media turkeys completely miss the point when they go gaggling on about this subject:

1. The "Russians" or whoever leaking these files did not influence the election. Killary and her staff influenced their own demise by being crooks. If they weren't corrupt then there is no "influence" on the election.

2. If we are so worried about the "Russians" or whoever hacking into their emails - then why is Killary running her own email server in her home?

Again - shouldn't this whole firestorm about the Russians simply be one more nail in the coffin of Hillary Clinton? Should she not be tried and convicted for her acts? Why is it that the major news media hardly ever ripped into her for these acts during the election and not even a whisper of it now?

If I was able to have voted I would have held my nose and voted Trump.

What really saddens me is when I told some of my voting intentions I was instantly derided and called names.

Democracy it seems doesnt apply to the left ( I guess why should it since they arent at times - Bernie 75% tax on income as an example- that far from communism).
If the left and media agrees with what you say all is good but hell hath no fury if they disagree with your position - George Orwells 1984 is coming true.

Funny how when Bill Clinton and Obama first were "president elect " you never ever heard the right calling on electors to change their votes/ hold bogus recounts/ call the election illegit.
The Dems and the media are bottom line sore losers and want to change the rules of the game when the outcome turned out to be not what they wished for.

They are blaming everyone and everything else but themselves for their own failure.

I'm surprised this is the only thread about this topic

Anyways I'm so disappointed with the democratic party and our own BC liberal party at the moment. Right now I'm ashamed to call myself a leftist liberal.

My family and I were saying if they elected Kim Kardashian for the democratic party, she would have won by a landslide hands down lmao

The BC Liberal Party is actually a right-wing conservative-liberal coalition. They only took the name Liberal because it was available.

Yeah, the crowd that used to support the Social Credit party basically co-opted the Liberal party. Back in the day we called the Socreds the car-dealer-coalition. Nowadays I guess the real-estate-agents-coalition is probably more like it.

In Your Wildest Dreams!
They went BACK to the Liberal party after the Social Credit party was no longer viable. Prior to 1975, all the founding fathers of the modern Social Credit party defected from the BC Liberal Party when "Liberal" became a dirty word in Canadian federal politics...The more things change!

The electors have voted, Trump is OFFICIALLY voted in and just needs to be inaugurated, no going back now, doesn't matter if the electors were put in place to save the country from "dictators" like this, or that the Russians most likely hacked the election in favor of Trump...America is either doomed, or who knows, maybe Trump will make some big changes but I doubt it, because there is congress and the senate and they still make the final decisions (except I'm not sure if he does executive orders - does that mean he will have the final and only decision? maybe someone can answer)... I'm sure once Trump gets in the white house he will realize how things work and will probably just go along with how things already are unless some hardcore republicans sway him. I'm so undecided about Trump, sometimes I loathe the idea and other times I think maybe it will be a fresh new change in Washington and hopefully - since he isn't truly conservative and is more liberal, just like most hollywood celebs - he will do some interesting things. Or he is just a big fat liar with evil intentions and will completely destroy everything even worse than Bush. It's difficult to tell.

A little off topic but I don't want to start a new thread unless someone else does...but the destruction in Aleppo is just so heartbreaking, maybe it was a good thing to take in Syrian refugees. It's so disgusting did anyone see the assassination of the Turkish ambassador for Russia today? just crazy!!! And the Berlin Christmas market crash, its considered an act of terror. I have CNN go live playing on my computer hehe  so I'm all up to date :D BTW the CNN reporters are incredibly gorgeous! where do the news companies find these beauties

Good grief...Canada is going to be in for a rough time if this article is true....they want to make it illegal for the US to import oil????? W.T.F.

http://www.vox.com/2016/12/21/14044376/trump-navarro-ross
Simply not possible. There is no way the US could ramp up production & maintain it to supply their current needs. I can't remember the numbers but the US uses some 20 million barrels of oil a day & produces about 11 million. They'll never be energy self sufficient unless they moved to natural gas & renewables. The Trump presidency will likely help the Canadian oil patch. Trump seems like he'd want to buy more Canadian oil & less from the Middle East

I've made up my mind, Trump is deplorable, his cabinet is like his billionaires boys club and he will sell America to the highest bidder. Can't wait for the impeachment party! I'm sure his only intention was special interests, he doesn't give a flying f*ck about anybody but himself.
