It's been a while for me that I try not to go inside and prefer to do drive through simply because the sight and experience are not very pleasant to say the least.

My usual location has at least two or three homeless sitting against the wall outside. Many a time, at least one of them is in that zombie mode (for lack of a better word). Inside is not any different. A lot of time, some of these poor souls are slumped on the tables, chairs, even that nice sofa against a fireplace. I totally feel their need to stay warm especially during this cold snap but .... I used to sit inside and enjoy my caffeine during my break, but not anymore.

I hate the idea of being disgusted by the visuals and I would never want to look down upon on them with disdain and that's why I would rather just drive through.

I don't know if it is going to get any better.

I just wanted to vent it out.

(PS: and I am sure soon this thread will make a 90 degree turn towards the (lack of) service standards at Timmys, but that's for another day.)

go in and buy them something
That's a very noble thing, I agree.

I would, if they were in their senses. Many of them are like I said, passed out or this zombie mode that this drug puts them in. In fact, in the past, I remember on two occasions, two different people holding the door open for me. I did offer them lunch but one just looked at me blankly and other just said, "no sir, I just need money for bus fare".

The question is where does charity begin and smacking people in the head because they made bad choices.

When I was growing up, my mother (with me and my sisters) would cross the street if there was a drunk on the sidewalk.

Things have gotten worse since then.

The biggest thing about the drug use is that other people let them get away with it. The excuses other people make for drug addicts is only enabling the drug users to continue.

Given that most people start off with pot, which leads to other more addictive drugs. The people that push drugs are also guilty for enabling drug addicts to continues down their spiraling path.

Pretty much can end the drug addiction by hanging the drug dealers and letting the drug overdoses victims die. No sellers, no buyers that is the end of that business plan....

I understand the drug business, its lucrative, and you don't have to pay tax on it. So every dollar made you make its actually 1.50; because its tax free..... The underground economy.

Until the problem gets out of hand like it is now, politicians have to get tough on these criminals. Your going to get a big pile of corpses to correct this problem society has.

So if you don't like seeing spaced-out kids in your local tim hortons, hang the drug dealers.... no deals for the drug dealers, just hang them....
