Modern razor blades are a scam through and through. Over 1 billion men still use the ol' double edge razor and it's a great saving: approx $15 for 100 blades. The blade only cuts your skin once, not 5 times like modern razors. Use each blade about 5-7 times then toss. With the right blade, it just glides across your skin. Highly recommended.

I use italianbarber.com (Canadian) for online purchases of razor, blades and soap. Some of the newer razors are really handsome pieces of steel and will look fantastic on your bathroom counter.
Go for laser.

Ugh, I've been burned by O&G so reluctant to venture there again. Although can't really go wrong with Suncor and Enbridge.

Air Canada and Cineplex are recovery plays worth considering though IMO.
Agree. I see those 2 company as " people are desperate shares". Meaning.... desperate for entertainment & getaways. If and then this pathetic so-called virus is gone, only then they'll begin the uptrend.

As for O&G. As I said. Prepare to have patience and with several years in mind. A dollar cost average strategy certainly wouldn't hurt either. After all, It is cyclical sector.

those numbers are out of date

Ontario friends / family are charged from 30-100% more than our existing ICBC rates for similar vehicle and similar coverage. And if I have it right, Alberta rates are close to ours as well.
The good is that when my insurance gets renewed in a month and change, the note from ICBC does show about a 20% reduction from last year.
Woo hoo, thats more $'s for the pooning fund!

I took my fully functioning ink jet printer to the recycling depot two years ago. Did the cartridge refills myself a couple of times to save $$. Finally had enough of ink ripoffs. Bought a lazer printer based solely on the cost of $/page replacement cartridge price. Never going back to ink again!

Everyone's business is different. I barely print anything anymore. Work delivered to clients, bookkeeping, government paperwork, invoices and payments are all digital now.

But just because that works for me doesn't mean it works for everyone. Not every business can do that.

I do have a functioning inkjet printer. Last year I ordered a couple of dozen cartridges from China, for the price of one or two cartridges here. I'll probably never use them up. I sure won't buy another printer.

Internet/cellular plans. Canadian prices are amongst the highest in the world and Canadian companies in this space are the most profitable in the world.

Furniture.

Gas - much of price increases in gas in BC in the last several years traces back to gouging at all levels along the chain and specifically to gouging by Alberta distributors.

Here's another one: MERs. Those are the fees that banks charge on mutual funds - MER stands for Management Expense Ratio. I was looking at the MERs for some money market funds and they charged more than the return ON the funds - so in effect, you'd be losing ground every year and paying the bank for the privilege.

And it's not rocket science to buy some provincial bonds either.

Seriously WTF.

In Mexico it’s less than $20 CDN for a month of calling to and from anywhere in Canada, Mexico and the US plus 6GB of 4g data and that’s the prepaid rate. I don’t think any carrier here offers a product like that as it includes unlimited North America wide LD and roaming but it would probably cost hundreds. Yeah the prices here are absurd.
I agree.....Ive travelled to many so called third world countries and pretty well everyone has a cell phone and paying for it with minimal wages so you know the cost has to be a fraction of what we pay

Sure. And the people who work for the phone companies in those low-wage countries probably also make minimal wages. It's easy to go to a poor country with a wallet-full of money from our rich world and be impressed at how inexpensive everything is. Try living there on, say, the wages of a technician maintaining their cellular infrastructure, and see if you still think everything is inexpensive.

Third world countries use cellphones because it is cheaper and faster to build cell towers than run lines into thousands of homes.
