Everything is priced as it should be, with a few exceptions: price subsidies, price collusions... some of these are listed.

Overpriced things can be rational still.

Gasoline is crazy priced in BC, more so in the lower mainland. The taxation is obscene: carbon taxes, GVRD taxes, BC taxes and the Feds. It’s madness that almost 50% of the cost of a litre of gas is going to different Govt entities. Also the oil companies raise the price quickly and if there is skirmish anywhere in the world, the price shoots up and never comes down again when peace is achieved.

Post-secondary education. Don't get me wrong - it's invaluable. But people should not have to run up tens of thousands of dollars in debt to get the education they need to have a fulfilling life.

This is coming from an old guy who was no scholastic star but was able to earn two post-secondary degrees without going into debt, even though my family couldn't provide much support. I think that what I was able to do in the 70s and 80s just wouldn't be possible now.

100% agree, it's absurd how expensive degrees are just so you can get a decent job. I'm lucky to not be in the US where it's even worse, so the chances of me being forced to spend the rest of my life paying off debt just so I didn't get a dead-end job or be unable to afford feeding myself are lower. Still though, goddamn.

Also very much appreciate you recognizing how much more expensive they are nowadays than back in the day because it does get tired hearing old ppl complain about younger ppl being poor

I agree, we had one station where I live that provided free air until a year ago. However I do understand the need to charge. I have witnessed many times the abuse some users put on the equipment. I was waiting for a turn, when the guy before me pulled so hard on the hose that he actually ripped it off the connector. Repair doesn't come cheap.
