The Session to End all Sessions

I have just come off a session which blew my mind - and my body as well (I think).

As I was lying there in after-session heaven I thought to myself: if this was my last session I would be happy. What an amazing way this would be to end my bdsm career. It was intense, messy, sensual, painful, endorphin-rushing CBT, NT, GS, CP, strap-on play, heavy bondage and sense. dep.

Here's my thought - because of the nature of bdsm session/activities (where we are always travelling towards the edges, looking for endorphin highs, pushing our bodies to the extreme, experincing an unbelievable range of sensations) aren't the "highs" way more higher than anything in "vanilla". And what happens when you experience that "session to end all sessions"? Is that a good time to stop and think and re-evaluate?

It's funny how a totally amazing session can push you to think about stopping!!!!

But, that's how I'm feeling now. I know in a few weeks I'll probably be craving some more of that senually explosive pain and submission.

Has anyone else had similar experiences?

Yes - you describe very well an almost undescribable experience. There have been occassions when I've felt so 'satisfied' that it was difficult to imagine that there was a similar experience possible in the future. Fortunately there were similar 'high' experiences, although not at every session. These moments are often unexpected - when the mind, body and environment connect perfectly. Scripting such things is close to impossible and we can never get into the same river twice. Sexual satisfaction is a lifelong progressive experience, starting with 'vanilla' experiences and moving through those to the desire for more novelty/experimentation etc. The 'high' lasts for days but the desire for a repeat will return :) Thanks, sub.

Great posts. This takes me all the way back to 1998, sitting in a small park after the most intensely enjoyable, perfect session I could ever hope for. Unable to walk, focus, or function, but blissfully grinning like crazy. Thinking to myself, this is it. Life is complete--I am done now. I have reached the pinnacle, experienced the ultimate, craved and enjoyed the best of the best. My world rocked, my desires sated. Surely I would need no more sessions after this! Surely there would be no reason to repeat? Why risk a lessor session? Why session ever again??

I lasted a full month! Oh, but then the thought of repeating started to enter in. Subtle nuances could be different; not better, just different. Other ladies with other specialties. It's like when a new beer comes out--I want to taste it, see for myself if I like it or not. Curiosity never stops. Passion is an active art, I decide in the end. Now here I sit. Over ten years later. Many great sessions since the ultimate 'quit now' experience. And now I contemplate retiring from the scene. Not quitting. Retiring. Different reasons, same challenge. Could I really do it? Do I want to? I may try. I have figured out a phasing strategy, much like the patch for perbites. Will it work? Ten years from now I will know the answer.

So Punt....

How come? Why retire? Why phase out?

Different reasons, same challenge??? Honestly, I (and probably a few others around here) would love to hear more.

Thanks for the honest interest Sub.

This explanation will first require 3 things.

1. A few final reviews that are overdue from me. I will get to these done in the next month or so. I need that creative spark to make the posts work the way I want them to. I may have to watch some inspirational videos, like The Lion King, a good western with Clint Eastwood or Yule Brenner, and some freaky foreign films where I can't guess the ending 13.7 minutes into the movie.

2. I need every viewing Perb-Kinkster to read / re-read the following to set the emotional stage (I will allow 4-6 weeks for this):
a) Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert Heinlein, or the entire Callahan's series by Spider Robinson.
b) Selected works of either (i) Robert Frost, (ii) Pablo Naruta, or (iii) Ernst Hemmingway
c) A novel with an extremely long time frame. I recommend the Forever War by Joe Haldeman, or something with Egyption Pharoes. If you're read out by this point, you can just watch a re-run of Beneath the Valley of the Ultra Vixens, (written by Russ Meyer and Roger Ebert don'cha know).

3. A large bottle of Jack Daniels, some good clear ice, a double torpedo of Coke, and a nice stable T1 line for my retirement explanation.

Sorry for the dramatic buildup and overt elusiveness, but it's dramatic and elusive.

Stay tuned.

Punt...

...while I think what you are doing is interesting....I think it basically impossible. Once you have a taste for something and still have the means to obtain it....I have to wonder why on earth you would ever feel the need to give it up. I admit that Miss Canada has me throttled...I also know that Her time will pass.

It could be that you will pass along and decide none of this is for you...I cannot imagine that......but...you will do what you need to do for you. You are a smart and cool dude and you will control your own destiny to the extent that you are able.

Regardless of what happens, I wish you well.
