Well China-Taiwan stuff is off-topic, but you would not want that war breaking out. No naval & air conflict like that has been seen in the west Pacific since WW2. And this time the weapons are so much worse.

China has a huge amount of force it could throw at Taiwan, but like with Russia/Ukraine, it would be facing a well-prepared adversary with lots of international support.
Morale matters greatly and while maybe Taiwan might not mind getting cozier with a reasonable China, an aggressive tyrant like Xi Jinping is like a clear argument for why they should never want that.
So if China went after Taiwan now, they would face strong and immediate retaliation, not just from the US and maybe Japan, but also S. Korea, Phillipines, Vietnam, Malaysia, basically any nation all the way down to Australia that is tired of Xi Jinping's bullying and a long history of pushing back against China's territorial ambitions. And then there is India (Modi or not Modi, they are the other big player in the region and have ambitions of their own.)
China would also face immediate and crippling economic sanctions, including energy embargoes. At that point, they might be totally reliant on Russia for oil & gas. No way any tankers make it from the Persian Gulf to their shores at that point.
Some have pointed out that companies are already moving manufacturing out of China in anticipation of future conflict, but COVID also proved that relying on thinly-stretched overseas supply chains is a bad idea so the move is not that new.
China can of course retaliate, targeting production of chips, of tech, of things like steel and ships, but all this would mean is that the global economy which built them up so much would rapidly decrease.

China has carriers now, but the US can match them locally and still have enough to cover other oceans. Carriers would be targets for subs, subs target for aircraft. Airbases for missiles, and BOOM. That's not some slow-burning insurgency; that is high-intensity hot war that probably goes nuclear. This is not some video game, and when the real thing bites down hard, you can forget about clinging to any notions of preserving what came before it.

I don’t think Xi is being aggressive but he is way more bold and assertive to China’s rights because the nation is now much more developed than 20 to 30 years ago when they were angry but couldn’t react much due to the difference in military and scientific strength compared to the US.

Morale does matter and Taiwanese people as a whole do not want war. None of their youngers are ready for war. You need to dig in and see how pampering is the Taiwanese military to their troops? I have friends in Taiwan and their kids report to the mandatory training and it is mind-blowing how these kids can fight a war with that kind of pampering! Therefore, when war does break out, they will just surrender.

S. Korea can’t make a move because N. Korea is right at their door step and China is N. Korea’s closest ally!

Malaysia is traditionally an ally with China who opposes the outsiders stirring up trouble in the South China sea. Let’s say they will not side with the US/West.

Japan has been the traditional enemy of China. I am sure that if they get involved, it might not be Hiroshima this time around and they fully know that! Besides, the Russians are watching them too!

Vietnam and China are like brothers. They fight and then they play well together again but both come from the same party/political belief and it is called Communism! Do you think they will side with the US when they got Napalm by the US and millions killed during the Vietnam war? They will remain neutral.

Modi & India got Pakistan and Afghan to worry as well as Khalistan!

Russia and China are building a few brand-new super pipelines now and once they are done, why do you even need oil from the Gulf??

As for manufacturing goes, some manufacturers are moving outside of China to Vietnam, India or Bangladesh now but do you realize the parts are still made in China and they just assemble them? Besides, the lower end of the manufacturing has no profit margin now and labor is getting expensive in China, so why don’t let them go elsewhere?

Bottom line is today’s China is not the same 30 years ago when they couldn’t fight back. Now, if China sanctions US/North America, good luck with finding anything on the shelf from canned foods to even a broom! I am not glorifying China but we don’t need more wars and that’s why it is nice to co-exist peacefully so that everyone can make enough money and sample more yummy kitties! 😊

Growing militarism? How many wars did the US start since Second World War? How many war did China start in all of its modern history?

Land grab for resources? What is the US doing in Syria now and how do you explain them taking all the crude out of the country? There is no mandate for them to be there! Much like in Canada, Alberta produces all the oil that we can sell for 2x to 3x more than selling to the Americans but strangely that every time a pipeline was going to be built to export crude, a bunch of "Environmentalists" from down south showed up and stopped that! When the Germans came begging for LNG, our government refused and said there was no business case to build a pipeline for LNG export. How strange!? But wait, because the US is now selling it to the EU at ridiculous price! So yeah... let's build a oil pipeline and a LNG pipeline to the South, sell them at dirt cheap price and then let them make a killer profit reselling it to the EU/Asia! Isn't this the same as resource grabbing but at a more civilized manner?
