Has anyone watched the documentary the Cove. Sad state of affairs in Japan. Just like "Sharkwaters."
For those who have seen it what are your thoughts?

1st thought, kick the living shit out of Mr. "Private Space" then lock him up in a small cell and throw away the keys.Has anyone watched the documentary the Cove. Sad state of affairs in Japan. Just like "Sharkwaters."

Final thought, educate our kids so one day some of our outdated barbaric practices will vanish from the face of this earth.
Yes Eddie, most people are complete hypocrites. We get all upset about this Dolphin slaughter, yet we think is just fine to do the same with cattle, pigs, chickens, etc..,
I had the misfortune of driving the highway just outside of Bakersfield in Cali while they were herding them through a station of some sort. Hundreds of cattle milling about, awaiting whatever it was we decided of them. The ground was black with shit and piss and the smell was enough to make you feel the desperation these poor animals must have been experiencing. I swore I'd never eat meat again.
Well it didn't last long. I was just not prepared with enough knowledge to replace the meat in my diet with alternatives.
Then the smell of a BBQ would make my mouth water.
I gave up and put my head back in the sand. Certainly I eat a lot less meat than I did in the past but I'm still condoning the death of mammals for my greedy spoiled sense of entitlement.
I have some interesting medical data that actually PROVES why we should never eat mammals.
Will post the info soon. I hope some people here are interested.
Since I'm on a quitting streak-- no more alcohol, cigarettes, coffee, carbonated drinks... I may as well go non-mammal diet too.
Looking forward to looking sexier soon too!!

Thank you for this reply SNL....I admit to being a chickenshit and logging off after posting it. I rarely post an offensive post.....well, so far as I know. But, this post stood that chance. Your reply was delightful and warrants a response most assuredly.
I will respond in sections....trying to put your crap in italics so that my non italicized crap will show differently...oh, fuck it, the screen keeps jumping around and I haven't the means to control a jumping screen.

agreed. This brings up the Disneyfication of "cute" animals. We are all inclined to believe that the "cute" animals deserve a better break than the "ugly" ones. Too bad seals are so cute, rabbits, deer, and lions too. I had a g/f...she was cool....who was a child psychologist and her shtick was that "Walt Disney is evil"....what?????? She explained logically, as only someone who has seen a lot and done a lot can do.....that Walt sets up expectations in life...and we buy them. There is, in fact, no fairy princess nor a frog prince to happily hold our hand until days end. I had a subsequent lover with whom I would gladly have done that....but I walked away. She's some cool shit....but, she's baggage at best. For clarity, I am missing her at the moment...I need only speak of her (however that speech is framed) in order to do that.
Having said that, I love that we all get pissed off about the "wrongs" in life. If we didn't, we would still be sending skinny kids down chimneys to cleanse them. Oh, Walt kind of set that up as a good deal too. Sorry Walt, but you piss me off.

We all see it daily....but, we are the "masters" of the earth....just read the bible. It tells you so....somewhere. We are entitled...and I love that we all take "umbrage" over the misdoings of our own selves. That....is what a free press is all about. If we were not able to read and educate ourselves about the injustice of others...we would fail to advance. I love free media for that....as we all know though...free can often mean only an opinion well expressed. I have walked out of many the talk thoroughly convinced that the espouser was correct. Good speaker.

Is it triple blind studied, peer reviewed, and published in a format that invites critique? If so, totally interested. I could use a reason to switch.

Rufus Wainwright sings of "cigarettes and chocolate milk"....and Sia sings...."don't ask why I smoke, but I drink to get drunk".....screw the carbonated shit, just pour some tap water into a jug and keep it in the fridge. We are extremely fortunate to have water that is the envy of many.
You cannot possibly look sexier than you just did....you are a fine mind SNL. Do you promise not to let me up for breath on less than 1 minute increments despite my struggling???
hugs,
eddie.
since you put it that way, NO! however, i have read reports about human near-death experiences (via large carnivores) where the intended victims experienced a strange sort of acceptance that came with a numbness that allowed them to feel themselves being eaten, but without the excruciating pain of flesh and nerves being rended. i never want to go there, but that's what i have readIs there a way you could be killed that would make you proud to become part of a lion (for example)?

True. As can you.Speak for yourself.
you are quite right...I suppose...but I am having a hard time seeing how it came "off topic". What I see are people having fun with it, pushing it, poking fun at it.....and, I think that's pretty cool. As you are not the Original Poster on this....why would you care? And, your beloved Habs have advanced to the Semi's. Go Canada Go! Be well wilde....I am trundling off to bed....say it all...or say nothing at all. That's the beauty of sleeping....I could give a fuck what you do one way or the other. It didn't take long for this thread to get off topic, did it? Have some of you even seen the documentary? It is not about killing animals for food. It dealt with the unnecessary and barbaric practice of slaughtering dolphins and it's cover up by Japanese fishermen in Taiji.

It dealt with the unnecessary and barbaric practice of slaughtering dolphins and it's cover up by Japanese fishermen in Taiji. They would round up hundreds of dolphins each day, pick the ones that are desirable for the Sea Worlds of the world and kill the rest. This goes on for 6 months every year. The dolphin meat which are very high in mercury are then sold to the public or given to school children often under the disguise of being whale meat.
Goodnight my friend, "I couldn't give a fuck what you do one way or the other", that's what you meant right? kindest,

May be you should start you own "Meat is murder" thread. This thread is called "The Cove" last time I checked.I think the fact is, this thread is about the senseless killing of animals. Sorry to the OP, if they consider this off topic, but I post to help myself in my quest to do the right thing.
A lot of hate lately wilde, a lot of hate..................get some looser fitting ginch and lighten up a bit.Goodnight my friend, "I couldn't give a fuck what you do one way or the other", that's what you meant right? Cause the feeling is mutual...

Thank you for proving how far your have veered off topic. If you actually read my previous post, there is nothing in it that talks morals or ethics... What it does, is show you how eating mammal meat and milk is really bad for you.
