Hi All
In the past we have said that the earliest you could test for gonorrhea or chlamydia was after 7 days. Due to the new testing that our lab is using they have changed this to 14days.
E.g. If the condom broke and you wanted to get tested for gonorrhea and chlamydia you would need to wait for 14 days before you could be assured of an accurate result.
If you are experiencing symptoms go in as soon as possible.
As other clinics may use different tests, when making an appointment I would ask how long people need to wait before being tested if they are experiencing no symptoms.
Let us know if you want us to expand on a topic. Remember if you would like to ask me a personal question just send me a PM.
