That's MY problem with him: Lack if full effort! Good riddance for the Mets and Mariners alike!
Unfortunately it's the gift that keeps on giving. We gave up a lot of qualify young arms and took on some major salaries to get Cano and Diaz from Seattle and Stroman from the Jays. Both deals were unmitigated disasters and thankfully the new owner came in and promptly cut bait with this horrible GM (Brodie Van Wagenen). Maybe the Rangers can do something with Lafreniere (if NHL ever starts) but for the most part my pathetic teams are a bottomless abyss of mediocrity from one season to the next. But I still love em!! And miss them.

Agree or disagree:

Yes, Drew Brees is great, and losing him hurts.

However, the Saints have a pretty solid supporting cast, like Kamara. If the skill position players can step it up, and backup QB Taysom Hill can be a decent "game manager," the Saints can still get a top 2 seed in the NFC.

I know that the Falcons aren't very good. Still, I was impressed with how Taysom Hill "managed that game," in the Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson mold.
I was real happy to see Taysom Hill have a good game. Too many sports writers and broadcasters were saying that he was kind of a freak and only in for trick plays and that they should have played Winston instead. He showed that he has a passing arm and some smarts as well

I get the Any-Given_Sunday thing but the Raiders seem a bit of an enigma.....they beat the SB champs in KC,damn near beat them again in the re-match,losing in the last minute, then get stomped on by the Falcons, who nobody is going to mistake for the 1961 Packers.

We're a few minutes away from Pitts-Balt kickoff(finally)
Not a Steelers fan, but have much respect for a storied franchise that's getting screwed around for the ineptitude of other teams lack of covid caution.

Agree with Puntmeister on the endless commercials during NFL games.I understand sponsors pay big $,but still a pita.
I try to multi-task,eg do a bit of housework,or paperwork during the 3-4 minutes of frequent stoppages. That, or catch cpl minutes of a movie playing.

Tim has to be happy as both the Rams&Cards lost, leaving the Seahawks alone in 1st place. However,if things remain as is, they'll need to beat the Rams in the re-match because LA would hold the tie-breaker.

Maradona died 15 yrs to the day another icon, George Best, passed.
Both were supreme talents and maybe their own worst enemies?RIP.

Steelers now 11-0 but looked less than stellar in defeating a depleted Ravens roster.
Should be able to get past the Washington Politically-Corrects on Monday avvo, but the challenge will be in Orchard Park vs the Bills the following Sunday.

49ers have to relocate to Phoenix for their "home" games but maybe just as well? They're 1-4 at home and 4-2 on the road.

Wow, the Jets keep finding new ways to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. They are destined to go 0-16, it appears.
The Bears get an honourable mention for blowing an almost certain victory against the laughable Lions after Trubisky fumbles inside the 10 with 1:45 left. Six losses in a row for the Bears.
The Jaguars complete the hat-trick of ineptitude by losing in OT to the Vikings for their 11th straight loss.
The defending champion Chiefs clinch a playoff spot. The Browns ... yes really, the Browns, look like they're for real. And Aaron Rodgers? He is really good.

the Giants winning in Seattle is maybe the perfect example of the Any-Given-Sunday theme.

Partly due to that upset I'm feeling a bit nervous for the Steelers this avvo.Washington has had 11(?) days between games,Pittsburgh has had 5.
Also, the Steel didn't look all that great in beating the depleted Ravens, coach Tomlin compared them to a jr varsity.
Just have a bad feel for this, we'll find out shortly.

Jets&Bears finding ways to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory,Jets D. co-ordinator paid the price this am,wonder if Nagy is on the hot seat
in the Windy City?

Seahawks-Rams match

up almost surely for the division title.Even if the 'Hawks had won yesterday, they'd've needed to beat LA in the re-match
cuz Rams would hold the tie-breaker.

Could possibly see a Giants-Seahawks re-match IF NY wins the division and "Hawks are a wild card.

Chiefs are exciting to watch, but the pattern last night was to get to the red zone in nothing flat, then stall and settle for FG's.
Look for them to address that issue.

still have 3 games to close out Week 13!enjoy!

wondering if the NFC (L)East has morphed into the NFC (B)East?
Giants win in Seattle, now have won 4 in a row, Washington wins in Pittsburgh, I think they're on 3 in a row....will the Cowboys continue
the trend today in Baltimore?.....eh, almost certainly not.

After winning their 1st 11 games this season, I think the Steelers will be on a 2 game losing streak by Sunday night.
Buffalo is much improved,imo.

NHL now saying it's 56 game sched, starting mid-January.

The joker,of course, in all of this, is covid.

after 75% of the regular NFL season, in the NFC, not a single team has been eliminated!
I think this must be a record?
Granted, a couple are hanging on by a thread and could be dust by tomorrow evening.
The Cowboys at 3-9, are 2 games out of 1st place! For 2020, that somehow seems normal, lol.
AFC has had 4 teams eliminated to date.

For me, the marquee matchups this week are Steelers at Bills and Ravens at Browns.
It'll be interesting to see if Pittsburgh can rebound from a couple of sub-par performances facing a Bills team with momentum.
Ravens hammered the Browns earlier but much has changed since then.

I think Tim can expect a better effort from his Seahawks vs the Jets.

Enjoy the games!

I wonder aloud, if they purposely are trying to stay behind the 1-11 Jaguars. "Suck for Andrew Luck" a few years ago. This is "Florance for Lawrence" this season.
It's possible but I just think they are that bad. They are using third-stringers on D due to injuries when their first-stringers weren't even good to start with. I don't think anyone wants to be known as being part of a team that went 0-16. Though I guess they can always say it was a covid season so there is some sort of asterisk there lol. Anyway, they finish up by playing at the LA Rams (sure loss), home to Cleveland (almost sure loss) and at New England (outside chance of a win).

last night's MNF was wild!Ravens over Browns, 47-42.Case of who gets the ball last, wins.
Would be fun to see them meet again in the playoffs, but they'd both have to win 2 road games as Wild Card teams for that to happen.Unlikely.

After 13 games still only 1 NFC team mathematically eliminated, amazing, imo. There should be a few more knocked out this weekend.

Looking like KC vs GB/TB in the Super Bowl, but the Bills, Steelers,Rams and couple others might have something to say about it.

Dunno if KC's secondary might be vulnerable facing Favre or Brees(if he recovers from rib injuries)
In their sole defeat, vs Raiders, the secondary was repeatedly shredded.
Having said that,Mahomes has many weapons to work with.

Game of the week has to be KC at NO, dunno why it hasn't been shifted to Sunday Night Prime Time?

the Jets beating the Rams has to be the ultimate any-given-Sunday,eclipsing previous upsets this season, eg Giants over Seahawks,Washington over Pittsburgh

Steelers were 11-0, now 11-3,and they host Indy this week, and I think, finish in Cleveland. Those are 2 tough teams, possible that 11-0 could devolve to 11-5.
Seahawks 10-4, still must defeat(or tie) the 9-5 Rams, cuz LA has the tie-breaker.

Hard to imagine KC not hosting the AFC Championship, but picking who they will play is tricky.Buffalo,Indy, Tennessee,Cleveland all possibles.

We should know soon what will happen with the NHL,seems like B.C. and Ontario will have a tough sell to the govt. to get permission to
play in local arenas, so maybe a return to the Edmonton hub is in the cards?

Let's hope the jr tournament is able to be completed without disruptions.

There has to be college teams that could beat the Jets. 0-13 now.
ZERO and i’m talking not even Bama could come close to beating the Jets. this always gets me riled a bit when one of my armchair pals debates that they could. he forgets that every single player on the Jets was a college All American or has gone through the professional vetting process of beating out and improving to the point of being on an active roster. think of how many NFL players are stuck in a practice squad. Could the Tide beat the worst CFL team? Possibly yes, if the rules were American College. Even then numerous NFL and former Heisman winners have tried to come North and not fared well, likewise countless CFL all stars and MVPs have tried to break into the NFL only to return North. Could the best WHL or NCAA hockey team beat the worst NHL. Zero chance. Debate on if you will.

yes, it's a huge jump from NCAA to the NFL.

back in the 50's,maybe into the 60's, as part of the pre-season,the NFL had an exhibition game between the defending NFL champs(pre- Super Bowl)
and a team of college all-stars.
I believe the all-stars won a few of these, but whether the NFL team played 1st stringers very much is questionable.
