Unfortunately it's the gift that keeps on giving. We gave up a lot of qualify young arms and took on some major salaries to get Cano and Diaz from Seattle and Stroman from the Jays. Both deals were unmitigated disasters and thankfully the new owner came in and promptly cut bait with this horrible GM (Brodie Van Wagenen). Maybe the Rangers can do something with Lafreniere (if NHL ever starts) but for the most part my pathetic teams are a bottomless abyss of mediocrity from one season to the next. But I still love em!! And miss them.

I was real happy to see Taysom Hill have a good game. Too many sports writers and broadcasters were saying that he was kind of a freak and only in for trick plays and that they should have played Winston instead. He showed that he has a passing arm and some smarts as well
I get the Any-Given_Sunday thing but the Raiders seem a bit of an enigma.....they beat the SB champs in KC,damn near beat them again in the re-match,losing in the last minute, then get stomped on by the Falcons,who nobody is going to mistake for the 1961 Packers.

Agree with Puntmeister on the endless commercials during NFL games.I understand sponsors pay big $,but still a pita.
I try to multi-task,eg do a bit of housework,or paperwork during the 3-4 minutes of frequent stoppages.That, or catch cpl minutes of a movie playing.
Tim has to be happy as both the Rams&Cards lost, leaving the Seahawks alone in 1st place.However,if things remain as is, they'll need to beat the Rams in the re-match because LA would hold the tie-breaker.

It's possible but I just think they are that bad. They are using third-stringers on D due to injuries when their first-stringers weren't even good to start with. I don't think anyone wants to be known as being part of a team that went 0-16. Though I guess they can always say it was a covid season so there is some sort of asterisk there lol. Anyway, they finish up by playing at the LA Rams (sure loss), home to Cleveland (almost sure loss) and at New England (outside chance of a win).

ZERO and i’m talking not even Bama could come close to beating the Jets. this always gets me riled a bit when one of my armchair pals debates that they could. he forgets that every single player on the Jets was a college All American or has gone through the professional vetting process of beating out and improving to the point of being on an active roster. think of how many NFL players are stuck in a practice squad. Could the Tide beat the worst CFL team? Possibly yes, if the rules were American College. Even then numerous NFL and former Heisman winners have tried to come North and not fared well, likewise countless CFL all stars and MVPs have tried to break into the NFL only to return North. Could the best WHL or NCAA hockey team beat the worst NHL. Zero chance. Debate on if you will.
