Hello everyone, first post but I'm on LL and perb since last November.
I have seen a total of 9 SP as of now. (I might post reviews later but I don't like posting much)
Recently I came across some SP who wants a reference from others, which is a bit weird! it's like going to the store to buy something and asking the owner if the other store next door have the product.
my question is for the Independent SP, Agencies (LuxAff /Coco/AF) or anyone with experience into that matter.
Is it okay/normal with you to go through the hassle of giving a reference to someone you met maybe once/twice, don't you feel "betrayed" if he is returning customer and now he want's to try someone else!
and what does a "reference" looks like? they just call/text you and ask you about me in general or what. considering some agencies have hundreds of customers, how could they remember/know me.
Thank You
It’s really nothing like going to the store and providers typically don’t care about our clients seeing other providers, it’s a given. What we care about is that you aren’t going to rape or rob us and that you have good hygiene practices. Asking for references is really not that uncommon, so either be a good client and assure us that you’re safe by giving the reference if requested (ask the other provider first) or move on to someone who has different screening practices.

Before I start, I totally respect and appreciate everyone who is in this business.
bit of background about me just to let you know I'm not a shity client.
I always open up with quiet long enough introduction about myself when texting any SP. and I'm young / fit / always shaved / Doesn't smoke / showers before going and before we start / never negotiate / Before we start the session I always tell her if she feels uncomfortable anytime to let me know / considerate / I tip extra.

(Before you read, please keep an open mind and don't take anything personally or one word/sentence out of context)

Couple of points to clarify some stuff:
1. Read the DAMN question again! I only raised a concern and asked the agencies or the SP for their opinion and if it's okay with them to do that. like if it's a common thing to give out.
2. I was never denied any reference because I never asked for it! and I'm sure I will get it from everyone I seen.
3. I was not complaining about the practice, as I said I'm kind of new and wanted a clarification. So don't come at me with these statements.
4. The pizza guy can't blackmail if he decided to! some SP ask for Linkedin..let that sink in. they will know where you work and who is your boss/friends and maybe your wife.
From my experience as of now (10 appointments), every time I chitchat with the girls and talk a bit about her if she do something else like other job or if she studying...8 of them said NO...BECAUSE IT'S EASY MONEY. which leads to the pizza guy and the possibility of a blackmail. MONEY from blackmail is easier than the actual job she's providing. not saying anyone will do it, but the possibility is out there.
5. What will a selfie with ID gives you about someone character? Just pickup the phone and call him/video once he confirmed the booking if you wanted more information about him.
6. I don't post reviews to stay anonymous first of all, second I'm not willing to judge anyone from my one time experience with them! the SP could had a bad day or we didn't connect or for whatever reason I didn't enjoy the session. on the other hand if I enjoy it (which I did 7 times of the 10), it could be only for my case, I was in a good mood or we did click. I don't want to influence anyone decision.
If the SP respect the business and what she does she will post everything clearly. you can tell a good ad from a bad one.

In conclusion:
I will never ask for a reference even though it's okay (apparently) and I will not provide them my private life on a silver platter.
I will keep looking for SP who are reasonable (from my perspective) also with SP who I know and seen before.
Thank you all for your guidance and helpful opinions. Have a great night and hopefully we never meet in person.

So you're at 10 now and still no feedback of who you've seen. Buddy, share some reviews and help some people out. But yah you're right, linkedin is a hard NO for me. Hard fuck no. Any ID of that matter. But respect the agency's wishes or find a less restrictive one. Goodluck

The risks are not the same.
Guys risk a bit of embarrassment.
Women risk death.
Can you see the difference?

I can see the moderators point but it's good to have this thread, as someone new to this I need all the perspective and help I can get. I have never considered references before this and now it's something I will think about. When I first started considering this activity end of 2022 every time I searched I would get information on a news clipping about guys getting drugged and robbed in Surrey (where I live) by escorts. I understand it's been resolved but it scared me. I have a personal reputation and life that I absolutely want to protect by being as discreet as possible. I would expect that if an SP I frequented were asked about me from someone not in the business they would say I had gotten a massage and nothing else. I am not stupid and I understand that SP's likely experience much higher incidents of disrespect, violence and murder without the publicity because mainstream media simply is not empathetic to them. This is wrong but there's nothing I can do about it other than to be utterly respectful and appreciative for what they do. Bottom line is, as has already been stated by others, this is Their business and I will respect how they wish to conduct it.. if those precautions scare me, (providing ID or personal info) I would look for alternatives. I think that SP's providing a reference is one of the least invasive methods of reassurance and I would probably be more open to that than anything that may compromise my anonymity. I'm pretty consistent and hopefully memorable so I would hope a reference wouldn't be a problem. Thank you for having this thread, it's given me some new perspective and something to consider before it potentially happens to me so I can be prepared. Appreciate everyone who posts.

I wonder if she was asking for references..?

Ok so you can’t see the difference.
That providers are just as culpable as clients? despite that everyone on this thread are spit-ballin' statistics trying to say 'for every individual client getting the "Jessica Kane" treatment, there's five more providers getting the "Ron Jeremy" treatment'; Therefore, all clients must still expose more of their vulnerability and valuable personal information to being drugged, mugged and killed? Because all men are savage animals because one man did a bad 'unspeakable' thing?..... then who's going to hold Ms. Kane accountable for all these isolated incidents that make up for our paranoia? What policy should clients go by, to make sure the Kane's in the world don't get the better of the 'good men' that are out there?

Anecdotal self-reported statistics aside, nobody should have to see any real difference regardless... A smart person would say that anyone making paranoia is such an issue should just move on. Clients go find another provider more relaxed in their screening methods, while providers should find another occupation if things are that bad in their world; and if they can't because "the money's too good", then take up wielding and scuba diving for off-shore drilling platforms off the coast of Mexico, FFS. It's a six figure job, swimming in the ocean, set up living in exotic locations (beach life during off-duty), and the only hazard is not watching the oxygen levels in your tank as opposed to EVERY client wanting to choke the oxygen out of you ALL THE TIME. How is that any different than what a provider does, with the exception of never dealing with the constant horrifyingly dangerous public?

Escorts don’t drug and rob clients; scammers do. 😫 please don’t call scammers escorts
My apologies i should have been clearer.. that was what was being reported by the media. What was happening was some scammer scumbags were posing as legitimate escorts and drugging and robbing people. My point was that it really concerned me that it could be happening. Not trying to cast shade on any legitimate professionals.
