But how do you feel about people in this thread bringing up ways in which their privacy isn't respected by providers such as:
-Doxxing
-Provider only group chats
-Providers posting clients on social media
etc.
I think it's largely hypothetical, and not the kind of thing that regularly happens. There's a difference between maybe, might've, would've and could've things that happened, versus things that actually do happen in the real world. And I say that as someone whose last relationship ended over such things.
And, to briefly respond to MrMiyagi's post, I think that note applies to inexperienced users, willing to send their info to any random LL ad, not run by established providers that have built their reputations on professional handling of their business. There's a world of difference between just falling for random LL scams, and interacting with well known and proven providers who have been using such verification plans for years and years, without issue. There's such a huge grey area there that makes such conversations easy to follow into one camp or another of misrepresentation. Do I think people should just send sensitive info to any random person they find on LL? Of course not!
Have I sent my sensitive personal info to any person at all, in all of Canada? Also no. But there are certainly specific providers that I would, without much of a second thought, because they take their profession and protocols seriously. That being said, it's not even something I dabble in, because it's not even my interest to begin with, as already explained. But if it were, I could give you a small handful of names that that I wouldn't have much of a concern about.
And again, either way, I simply do not see providers that have screening I don't feel comfortable with. There's no need for me to complain about it, I'm not going to change anyone's mind. And to me, it's just as tacky as messaging someone that I don't think they're worth the price they're asking for. If it's not for me, there are still literally hundreds of fish in the sea that align with what I'm looking for. There's no need for me to be a dick bag pointing out my issues with a provider that I haven't seen, and never will see, on a review board for reviews of providers that you have seen, simple as that.
