So if you read a book that you think everyone should read.
Energy and Civilization- A History- Vaclav Smil -- University of Manitoba. Prime movers from people, animals, waterwheels and turbines, windmills, steam Engines, steam turbines, Internal combustion engines. From walking, coaches, ships, trains, airplanes.
Eric H. Cline-- 1177; After 1177; Three Stones make a Wall (about Archaeology). The 1177 books are about the fall of the late bronze age Civilizations and the beginning of the Iron Age.
Doom- The politics of Catastrophe- Niall Ferguson. Disasters from earthquakes to volcanoes, wars, to plagues. Using economics, cliodynamics, network science for explanations. And why the fuck we as a western world are failing to help in times of crisis.
Graham Hancock. Any. For the guys that think modern archealogy hasn't gone far enough... In his books he present facts found by other people who modern archealogists disagrees with, or have hard time with the facts they present. So Hancock presents them.
I like science fiction/fantasy books, and I like Roman history too.
Does any one know a good torrent site that replaces the Z-library that got shut down a few years ago?
