Still figuring the ins and the outs here...If an ad doesn't have any prices listed, should I assume that the SP will ask for a deposit? And should I also assume that if an SP asks for a deposit, that they're most likely a fraud? Sometmes there's an ad that says something llke "100% verified" at the top (no, not lower down in the photos) and still no sign of prices listed.

A good chunk of SPs don't post their rates right on their ad but that doesn't mean they will require a deposit. You'll just need to send a nice text over introducing yourself and asking for further details.
I've only once had to send a deposit and that was for a $400+ SP. I'm not against sending deposits but I wouldn't do so unless there were positive reviews about that person on the board here. I have however had to provide references and my board name on here and those two may gave gotten me out of paying deposits in the past.

Leolist is a Minefield of Scammers, and "Verified" means essentially nothing !
Fortunately for You, you've discovered PERB, and can save yourself a lot of Grieve .
This is where your Research, and "Due Diligence" will pay off .
A little History on Deposits based on my humble Opinion .
Deposits came into play a few years ago because of widespread "No Shows" that were impacting SP's Livelihoods ! And since then Deposits have morphed into an added layer of Security for SP's Safety with E-Transfers .
IMHO if You stick to well Reviewed, reputable Ladies, You'll never have a Problem !

*****NEVER***** hand over a deposit if it's your first time seeing a SP. Quite often it's a scam or they'll try and do a bait and switch.
Cash is king...don't hand over a dollar of it until you've met the girl.

Seriously? I'd have no problem handing a deposit to a PERB lady, especially local ladies (as opposed to travelling ladies). Their livelihoods depend on their reputations! That isn't true for the LL crowd, but...

I’m still not verified on LeoList. Before I was an advertiser here, I always had “read my reviews on PERB.cc” on my LL ad. Fuck them and their little piece of paper... 🤣
I think, honestly, that the difference between providers who require a deposit and providers who don't is desperation. Every provider would charge a deposit if they *COULD*. I didn't used to be able to, until I built my reputation and skill set, and now I won't see anyone without one. So, really, the choice you're making is to only see providers who aren't established enough to be able to demand that level of security and safety. Remember that while you may be risking $100, we are risking our lives.
Your choice.
