Gents,
We have had a couple of the providers raise an important issue. Some of you are using your PERB handle/account to secure an appointment with an SP. Sometimes, it's in lieu of references or even a deposit. There's an upside in that the provider can get a sense of your personality, and PMs can be used to confirm you are in fact, the person behind the account. The issue arises when you then no show the appointment, without a call, an explanation or a valid excuse.
We have had a rule for many years that PERB will not tolerate being used to extort or threaten the ladies with a bad review. We have also banned those who have attempted to barter good reviews for discounts or free services. It appears we now need to add using your PERB account in this manner. It's completely unacceptable to leverage your presence on PERB to get a session booked and then no showing without an explanation or excuse being offered. It's manipulative and damages the reputation of the board and its members. If you cannot make your scheduled appointment, the right thing to do is to communicate the reasons with the lady in question, and find a method of either rescheduling the session or otherwise addressing the wasted effort expended. She may well have turned down other clients to accommodate your requested time, only to have you flake out and not follow through.
When requested to by the provider and after properly investigating the situation, if it's found that you have unfairly leveraged your status on PERB in this way, you can expect infractions or bans according to the severity of the issue, the explanation of the circumstances and your willingness to the make the situation right. Each situation will be evaluated and in particular, if this is found to be malicious or an attempt to simply waste her time or adversely impact income on a tour, the ban may well be permanent.
This situation thankfully, doesn't happen every day, but PERB will not allow the board to be used to harass, intimidate or manipulate the providers. A very small number of bad apples have created this situation and we will make sure that vast majority of you are not impacted by this.
I am leaving this open for replies, but please understand, this is not up for debate. This change is being initiated by the Board Owner, in response to complaints from the ladies about the precious few of you that are pulling this kind of nonsense. Ideally, we never need to enforce it, but we will certainly do so when required.
