Bank tellers / staff are trained and told to be friendly and their performance in the cross-sell of additional Bank services is documented by management. It makes more sense for them to be friendly with high income / high balance customers than with those where there is no potential for a sale.

I would think that after being a member here since April 2006, you would have learned by now that you can get a lot more than just a smile, chitchat, flirts and compliments on your handwriting from some chicks for depositing your paycheck.
There are dozens of sexy, gorgeous ladies in the lower mainland that will be more than happy to give you a lot more than just a smile, chitchat and flirt when you deposit your paycheck with them, particular a large check like yours seems to be. I know they accept cash only, but 1 or 2 of them (or maybe 20) may make an exception for you, specially if you promise to set up a regular - every 2 weeks - repeat and deposit arrangement.
For that kind of money they'll make you smile for hours, - well at least 4 or 5 - throw in some chit chat, shower you with sexual pleasures and skills that will leave you physically, emotional and financially drained. You'll never again will have to hope that some girl will jump over a counter, - these girls will jump all over you - with positions that you probably never even thought were possible, and they will happily allow you to enter their private little deposit box with more than just your money. Open an account with with one of them, and see how quick their legs and mouth will open, and let the fun begin.

visioneast - you're doing this all wrong.Not that bank tellers are usually unfriendly but I notice everytime I bring my US dollars paychecks to Royal Bank to deposit them, the bank tellers (the female ones) would be extra friendly to me.Regardless their ages, ethnicity, the girls would smile, chitchat, ask me personal questions and try to flirt with me, even the married ones with rings on their fingers. Do some of you gentlemen experience this sometimes?
Let me tell you just a few of my encounters.
Today, I went to my local branch to deposit my paycheck, a female teller asked me what I do for a living, smiled the whole time, told me about her Christmas, asked me about my holiday and flirted with me.
Last month, a blonde teller complimented on my good handwriting, flirted with me and gave me her business card.
Last Valentine's Day, a female teller asked me if I had any plan for that day, I told her no plan, then she said she didn't have any plan, either and then gave me this sweet, innocent look and her voice sounded like she was hoping someone would ask her out...
I am not rich or anything but I do make above average income and receive a large paycheck in US dollars every two weeks. Maybe if I make more then perhaps the girls will jump over the counters.

That averages out to $15 a month. Hell, I spend more than that at the bank just to cover my NSF cheques or overdraft charges, 'cause when I deposit my paycheck with a SP, they never offer to give me any change, not even enough to buy a box of Chicken McNuggets.
But they do give me fair value for the amount of my paycheck, usually a 15 minute hand job to completion.
But I guess rich, good looking, well dressed guys like you have different priorities and turn ons.

I have around 70,000 in an investment account with scotiabank, and two other accounts I use for daily banking, and I generally don't carry a balance in them. I get treated like a standard douchebag when using those accounts, especially when at another branch then my own or with a new teller... but the attitude changes completely when I direct their attention to my investment account... suddenly everything is possible for me, managers appear to assist me etc. It's kind of disgusting really.
This tread just highlights one of the last inequalities in are society. We have addressed racial, religious, physical issues with laws preventing discrimination. But we have yet to address the issue of economic inequality. This is why a socialist society where everybody is paid equal sallaries whether they are a video store clerk or a doctor would be the better society.
I think most bank tellers make pretty low wages. I mean any moron could do that job you just need to be good looking.
