well. better chance of it being quick I suppose. Inevitable that it has come to the point where it is actually quite a real possibility.
The worst part is that the prevailing winds here usually come from the southwest and a target like that would probably be the recipient of multiple strikes. The fallout would be horrendous, Vancouver and Victoria to Seattle would be wasteland

Would be good if some Russian general, party member, whomever could somehow take out Putin. They would be considered by the civilized world as a hero.

If it was to come to Russia doing a nuclear strike on the US, we herein the lower mainland would be sitting on the edge of one of the first bombs to fall. Just to the south of us is one of the largest stockpiles of nukes in the world at the pacific submarine base near Everett Washington. Makes you sleep better at night knowing that doesn’t it
Well, as it used to be, the list of nearby targets were:
YVR, Abbotsford Airport (can be used for military purposes in a pinch, so nuclear ground burst to crater the runways); large yield airburst for 2nd narrows bridge (destroy port facilities and refineries on Burrard Inlet in one strike); CFB Chilliwack (at the time), CFB Esquimalt navy base, CFB Comox air base; possibly Tsawassen / Roberts Bank coal port too.
Puget Sound / Washington would get it even worse, and we would get the fallout.
Just the military targets alone: Whidbey Island naval air station, Bremerton carrier repair facility, McChord air base (& adjacent army base - now combined); Bangor WA submarine base; plus civilian infrastructure like Boeing Field, Cherry Point refineries, Port of Seattle, Bellingham airport, etc.

Yup, if the nukes flew then (when there were so many more warheads), or even of they did now, do not think we'd be in any way "safe" from the blasts, fallout, or the coup-de-grace of nuclear winter & famine.

Every kid knew: If the sirens go off for real, kiss your ass goodbye.

Well, it seems like we are slowly starting to get used to the idea lately.

The CEO of Russia’s second biggest oil company recently said he “hopes the war will end soon”
Yesterday he died after accidentally falling out a window.
Putin don’t give a fuck when he says this shit, does anyone really think all these opponents are falling out of windows? Of course not. Putin is murdering and saying fuck you at the same time.
On CNN Business they are saying it’s 8 executives in 6 months who died under mysterious circumstances. One was living in Southern Spain so leaving Russia is still unsafe with Putin’s assassins are at work just like in the UK murders.
