Well, as it used to be, the list of nearby targets were:
YVR, Abbotsford Airport (can be used for military purposes in a pinch, so nuclear ground burst to crater runways); large yield airburst for 2nd narrows bridge (destroy port facilitis and refineries on Burrad Inlet in one strike); CFB Chilliwack (at the time), CFB Esquimalt havy base, CFB Comox air base; possibly Tsawassen / Roberts Bank coal port too.
Puget Sound / Washington would get it even worse, and we would get the fallout.
Just the military targets alone: Whidbey Island naval air station, Bremerton carrier repair facilty, McChord air base (& adjacent army base - now combined); Bangor WA submarine base; plus civilian infrastructure like Boeing Field, Cherry Point refineries, Port of Seattle, Bellingham airport, etc.
Yup, if the nukes flew then (when there were so many more warheads), or even of they did now, do not think we'd be in any way "safe" from the blasts, fallout, or the coup-de-grace of nuclear winter & famine.
Every kid knew: If the sirens go off for real, kiss your ass goodbye.
