It's because your current federal government is batshit crazy.

To get around it,

Download the Tor browser,
or
download the Opera browser and turn the VPN function on.

What is a VPN ?
Yes, what BBB said. VPN= Virtual Private Network. Some sites detect where your IP Address is, install a cookie (as a way to "remember" who you are if you come back), and then tag you as not being from a valid audience region. Deleting cookies, and using a proxy server will get you around that.

The US federal government is changing the legislation with respect to carriers/providers' liability of content posted on their sites, with a view to prevent human trafficking, under-age sexual exploitation, etc.
That's why CL in the USA has closed their "personals" section, and why BackPage got busted for alleged transgressions of the aforementioned illegal activities.
Keep in mind that simple consensual adult P4P is illegal in the USA, except some places in Nevada.

I am not surprised that LL and any other site dealing with P4P are excluding USA IPs as an allowed visitors. They don't want to be on the wrong side of American law.

I know someone here in Canada that uses a US vpn (dont know why) who says he can still access LL, only he can only see the text of the ads; the pics are removed. I am guessing that this might be to prevent pics that use illegal words. In this way LL can be sure that certain key words/phrases are not present in the ads.

All of a sudden my Leolist.cc has appeared in skeleton form only with all pics appearing as the blue square with question mark. I'm in Canada and all other websites are OK. Any ideas?

Don't be surprised if the local server in the US will eventually block the VPN signal. Under the Internet bill signed a few month ago, The server can limit or block content it deems unsuitable to their business.

You Americans have just lost your access to free information on the web. A person will always have the right to have free speech within voice limits, but videos and other written information can be blocked by the owners of the servers, cause they want to censor or limit that information.... I find that very disturbing for your future....

Although society has come a long way from Willie Nelson and Toby Keith's song "Beer for my horses"; :fencing: with the issues always!!

For me, that seems to happen depending on which device I'm using and which browser app is in use on the device.

No Canadian Site can risk users from the US accessing the site. The Cloud Act would allow the US Government to seize the site if they felt the site was being used for American Visitors. It’s not worth the risk under the new laws to allow Americans to visit the site.

Would PERB be affected as well if this site doesn't start geoblocking USA visitors?

What would the Americans have to do to seize a site in Canada (.ca) or the Cocos Islands (.cc)? Here is some info on the .cc site from Wikipedia.

.cc is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Cocos (Keeling) Islands, an Australian territory of 5.4 square miles (14 km2; 1,400 ha) and about 600 inhabitants. It is administered by a US company, VeriSign, through a subsidiary company eNIC, which promotes it for international registration as "the next .com"; .cc was originally assigned in October 1997 to eNIC Corporation of Seattle, Washington, by the IANA.

I expect they could go after the .cc site through the American administrator, Verisign, but what about .ca or .nz, the New Zealand TLD were sex work was decriminalized years age. Another possibility is Switzerland, a country known for its independence. New Zealand recently installed a big trans Pacific fibre optic cable and is supposed to be well connected to the world now.

How about some info from the mods about their expectations from the .cc TLD?

Yes, the US can use the Cloud Act to go after any site it feels is involved trafficking US citizens as long as the county is willing to cooperate. To my knowledge, Canada agreed to cooperate with the Cloud Act. The same thing that happened to Backpage could happen to a Canadian site if they make any legal mistakes impacting US Citizens under the Cloud Act.

The people who run LeoList are sharp. If they blocked US IP’s, they did it for legal reasons.

... anyone outside of Canada shouldn't even be on LL :p

I wouldn't want LL to turn out dead like Backpage and CL. Where the fuck else would I get my supply of easy paid pussy in Vancouver then?
