...and that's not to refer to Japan as China, twice, especially to Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Do all Asian men look the same?

Tell Justin.
Lol. And why do you assume the PM thinks otherwise? Is no one permitted to misspeak? Why do you assume it's something to do with race? Could it not be that the two were talking about China and the PM simply misspoke when reporters asked a question? Are you Japanese and personally offended by the PM's words? Are you not Japanese and just offended on behalf of all Japanese people?

Japanese consider Chinese to be of inferior ethics, and Chinese people have ancestral hatred against the Japanese.

This is a very big faux-pas in either direction.

I wouldn't fault the PM for it though, as I believe it to be a mistake.

Beverly Hills. In the Kitchen eatin' vittles.
Aside from the "incident" mentioned above, who else besides me is getting to the point where listening to him is painful?
He can't form a cohesive sentence. If not reading directly off of a prepared script every 2nd word is Uhm or Uh.
You'd think someone in his camp would notice this and get him some professional speaking help.

And I'm not saying this because I think he's an entitled, self righteous, narcissistic little bitch who needs to be returned to teaching drama.
I'd say this about any high ranking public speaker who can't speak.

Cheers

The only thing I may be assuming is JT is incompetent, I think that's a pretty safe assumption; he's doing a good job of confirming that.

...the two were talking about China...
JT was talking about China with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. How serious of a discussion would it be? He hasn't even appointed a new ambassador to China after firing McCallum for total incompetence. That's more incompetence given our troubles with China.

...Are you Japanese and personally offended by the PM's words? Are you not Japanese and just offended on behalf of all Japanese people?
No. I'm pretty WASP. When I was in China I was often told "you big noses all look the same". The Chinese are pretty direct.

My sister's parents are Japanese and Filipino. She thinks similar to me. Or I to her? Nature versus Nurture? We are both Canadians and not offended, just embarrassed.

The PM's incompetence and your embarrassment are one thing. But what does either of those two things have anything to do with, what seems to be based on your original post, your assertion that the PM believes that all Asian men look the same? If you believe the man is incompetent, you most certainly can state your belief. If you are embarrassed by what he said, again, you most certainly could've stated that as well. But to imply a person sees all Asian men as looking the same is clearly not the same as stating he is incompetent or that you are embarrassed by what he said. So, if you believe the PM sees all Asian men as looking the same, simply state it. Since you implied it, do you believe the PM sees all Asian men look the same?

lots, one of his first lies was Canada is back, his India trip, could go on but why bother

when you boast, lie, exaggerate, people are going to call you on your bullshit

unfortunately for Canada, the country is now being made a laughing stock, much like the US, because of the clown they have

we have our own clown, Trudeau, he's so much more like Trump than not, the law doesn't apply to him, he's incompetent, corrupt, out to lunch internationally, out for himself, more concerned with his image/likability, ect....

his behaviour is going to cost us, relations internationally, economically, already happening, if we don't get rid of him

for christ sakes, all he had to do is write it on his hand like the average coked out rock star that reminds themselves of which town they're in that night, lol

he's even more lost without Butt's hand up his ass running things

And none of your evidence points to the PM believing that all Asian men look the same. That's the whole point, OP insinuated that the PM sees all Asian men looking the same based on saying "China" when he should've said "Japan". Now the OP follows up with competence as his apparent point. If misspeaking is a sign of incompetence so be it. If all that you cite is evidence of incompetence so be it. But none of that is evidence that the PM believes all Asian men look the same - it's merely an attempt to connect two unrelated things. Misspeaking may be evidence of incompetence, but it's dubious at best to say that provides evidence of how someone sees all Asian men.

A Fridge too Far

Justin Trudeau is giving multi-billion dollar corporation Loblaws $12 million to buy new fridges.

The Liberals just handed over $12 million of your money to a company that brought in profits of over $750 million last year.

JT can't form a complete sentence without an "uhh" every 4 words, and that's when it's written for him to read off of!! The guy is an embarrassment, right beside that waste of skin Trump imo

If someone who misspeaks, can't form a coherent sentence or says "uh, umm" a lot is your definition of an embarrassment, so be it. I care not how someone defines what an embarrassment is. However; I do care when OP implies that a person sees all Asian men as looking the same and uses dubious evidence to demonstrate that implied assertion. Do you see the difference?

You've referred to the OP and his statement that " do all Asian men look the same?"....at least four times in this thread.
There was nothing dubious, or demonstrative....I took it as the OP couldn't believe the PM would make such a mistake, as the two nations have a distaste for each other ,reaching back a thousand years.
It was questioning the PM's lack of judgement....I don't believe it was a racial slur....it was simply a question.
At least that's how I took it anyways...but remember I'm not an Asian male, but I do understand an awful lot about Japanese culture....and that mistake from a world leader, would have not sat well with a Japanese dignitary.

If the Japanese PM was insulted and/or offended he most certainly can speak for himself. When any person says "China" instead of "Japan" I do not believe that warrants a reference/question as to whether that person views all Asian men as looking the same. When I answered the OP's question as to whether "do all Asian men look the same" with a simple no. To which the OP stated "tell Justin", which infers a belief that the PM believes otherwise. And I specifically called the OP out, to either confirm or deny whether OP believes the PM sees all Asian men as looking alike - no veiled assumptions or implicit assertions, just straight up say what he thinks. Instead the OP sidesteps and brings up incompetence. If OP believes the PM or anyone is a person that sees all Asian men as looking the same: one that's a borderline acquisition of racism and two, instead of beating around the bush with veiled questions and dubious evidence of saying "China" instead of "Japan", OP should just come out and say it or clarify his stance. All OP's subsequent talk about competence, his Asian family members, his trip to Asia where people made comments about his nose is just sidestepping and avoidance. I don't like when the extreme left calls people they disagree with as "racist" or "white nationalist" or whatever slur. And since I like to be consistent in my beliefs, I don't tolerate the veiled reference to racism leveled at the PM, even though I personally disagree with the PM on many issues. Make sense?

You must be a riot at parties...not that anyone with any sense would ever invite you to one.

The ACTUAL topic was supposed to be about yet another Justin international gaffe, not a personal diatribe on one posters perception of what consititutes racism and rather than subject thread readers to an ongoing condescending pedantic harangue/interrogation of the OP why not just state your own views in the first place and leave it at that rather than selfishly hijacking the thread for your own amusement while confusing and ultimately boring us plebian readers to death? You even drove one poor guy to the medicine cabinet for some extra strength tylenol!

Back to the original topic. Its a mistake that no competent leader of a country should ever make in a public forum and just another in a long list of international gaffes made by Justin Trudeau and his government from interfering in the Barbados election with gender equity proposals, to India, to snubbing the Belgium royals on their state visit to Canada and on and on and on.
