Is overdoing the advertising here a turn off to you

When an SP overdoes the advertisement by a significant amount here on perb, does it actually make you less likely to be interested?
Say she posts 40 new threads in one day, all exactly the same thing?

Makes me put her on my definitely don't see list personally.

FYI, the rules are no more than 2 ads per forum, per day. When touring lady is coming through, she may have ads in multiple cities.

Rather than getting down on a lady for spreading the word, some compassion and understanding for what the ladies have to go through to promote themselves might be a better idea. They make decisions about your based on your posts as well. It goes both ways.

When I log into perb, i usually just hit the new posts and see what has been posted since I was last here.
Yesterday afternoon I did that, and the first two pages were mostly the same exact ad by one person. I just skipped to page 3 and started looking for new posts there.
But it did have me making a mental note to pass on seeing her.

It was the first time I've seen anyone do that.

I wouldn't go to the lounge and start 40 or 50 identical threads in a row saying here is my new car, isn't it fabulous.
Just my 2 cents is all.
I'm more curious if it's just me who finds it a huge turn off, or if others do as well.
I hope its okay i didn't start a new thread for this post, instead of just adding it onto the existing thread.

I appreciate your response Forum Mod. It's much of what I would have expressed as well. Advertising is the beginning of our bread and butter and it isn't cheap either.
I will get in as much boasting, bumping and advertising while I am a paid advertiser on any platform.
Why should her marketing be a turn off? Her diligence should be a turn on!!

I never read the ads, I just look at the pictures and jot down the phone number. If a girl advertises here, it's a positive sign she isn't a Ripoff artist.

The "overdoing" that turns me off is not the number of times the ladies advertise, it's how they advertise themselves, the best this, best that, best of....most exciting etc....just my 2 bits.

There are SP who drive Western Canada and stop at all the small places in between the major cities. There are clients who welcome seeing ads that someone they’ve had their eye on is actually coming to a place local to them.

I’m pretty certain those clients look out for those ads you find so annoying.

Two things: it’s return on investment for their advertising here and getting the full bang for their buck. Already mentioned but those ads pay for your ability to post here for free.

@OP - the life blood of these forums is giving back in the form of writing reviews on Perb. Would it kill you to give back in the form of writing a few reviews?

It's all been discussed already so I will just add that personally speaking, no it is not a turn off.

As long PERB doesn't allow pop-up ads, I am cool with it. After all I only click on the ones I want to see.
