We can get all our energy needs filled domestically or from the United States. Same with food, entertainment and majority of goods.

There is no air tight proof barrier. I am simply suggesting a system of trade that limits global economic connections to reduce spread.
Using economic measures or physical barriers on travel are the best options available.
If you can reduce the amount of transactions with flying, boats or trucking into a country for business, you should reduce the exposure from outsiders.
We will never eradicate the virus. Reducing likelihood of exposure through economic weapons is all I am suggesting.
