Couldn't agree more. I, as well, have friends from all ethnics and we wish each other Merry Christmas. When someone says " Happy Holidays", first, I will repeat " happy holidays" But I will always phrase first with " Merry Christmas"
At my work ( public company ), Customers say Merry Christmas more than Happy Holidays.

Visit any almost Asian country in December and see how much they have adopted Christmas.
It might not cost anything to say Happy Hplidays, but it also doesn't cost anything to gracefully accept Merry Christmas as an extension of well wishes, not a reason to get offended, or invent "white supremacy" as its dfining characteristic.
And why is it usually the "Woke" white people who always seem to be the ones offended on behalf of people who don't seem to really be offended?
I have non-white friends from China, Cambodia, Uganda and India who all regularly say, "Merry Christmas."
