I have been thinking, in my kind of self imposed break from active pooning (a choice few know why), I have been still reading alot of the threads in here pretty much daily, and I have noticed a bit of a trend in alot of the threads, no matter what the OP topic deals with.
The trend..... Hijacking.
The basic example:
- Paul D.Pooner goes to see SP Sally. Has a great time. Paul D. posts a review of his adventure.
- Alot of the first members to reply give great praise and some only hope to see Sally.
- 6 replies in, Jobber Jock says he would rather see Dar Ling at the Asian micro.
- For the next 22 posts the topic of the thread has now turned to a back & forth discussion of Asian SPs & MPs.
Wait a minute... what happened to the tale of Paul & Sally? Did Paul overstep any bounds in posting HIS Review? Apparently so, because no one seems interested in him or Sally.
Paul now decides that maybe he just won't post any more reviews.
The More Personal Example.
-A Newbie posts a pretty good review of a Lady he saw at a Local MP.
- Again, a few good replies
- The owner of MP tries to show the review as an example of the type of girls she has working for her.
- Then a mob seems to descend on the thread attacking the owner of said MP, causing her to fire back her defense.
- On & on this goes, with PMs flying around commenting on the Newbie, The MP, The owner, and The lady who originally gave the great service.
I'm sure alot of you can think of your own examples of this type of problem. It seems to be causing alot of friction between alot of members. Alot of times, the Mods just put an end to the madness and close the thread, which seems to cause even more friction. (Round Round We Go)
Dr X, your original post asks what we can do to help PERB. In my mind, trying to do away with the HiJacking going on will be 1 step. Like oil in an engine, it will reduce the friction that seems to be trying to implode this board.
My thoughts. Feel free to disagree. As fellow members of this board, it is your option to have your own opinion.
Sorry if I have stepped on any toes. Next time, wear shoes.
