Goddammit, that was disappointing. But it was exciting when they woke up in the last 10 minutes and almost put it into extra time.
Not a fan of hockey but I could tell that the Canucks lost as the streets were really quiet.Canucks asleep for 40 minutes and now a couple of too late goals.
Look at the bright side this season is the best in a very long time. Highest point total and players up for post season awards. I hope they can re-sign a couple of rental players that they paid a lot for in trade and picks.
I totally agree. How does a team with a huge noisy crowd going crazy come out in the first period and get 2 shots on goal? They could have been behind 3 or 4 nothing after the first period if not for the goalie. They were lucky. Then came out in the second and did nothing again. Give Edmonton credit, their D played really good for most of the last tThey didn't deserve to win. Oilers outplayed and outworked the Canucks the whole game. Impressed by their defence, since they're known for their scoring.
NO SHOTS on a 4 minute power play? None? Two shots in the first period? At home? In game 7? When you're supposed to come out roaring? Game over right there. Edmonton let them have a hope with that terrible give-away for the C's first goal, but you don't win playing 10 minutes of a 60 minute game. Silov kept them in a game that should have been 5-0 going into the third.
Not sure I even noticed Miller. Pettersson is useless. He spends more time on all fours than two skates. Why is Mikhaev on the ice at all? At least the Oilers had the sense to bench Perry. Hughes is over-played.
I totally agree. They came out to start the game with no energy and a step behind the Oilers with the exception of the first shift. How does that happen on home ice with the energy of the crowd behind you? No excuses, and lucky to be tied after the first period. Bottom line, not enough offence and they let their shaky goalie off the hook until the last half of the third period. Too late, and didn't deserve to win. Give the Oilers credit for their defensive play the last two games. Draisaitl was the difference in the series, consistently scored big goals and assists when they needed them. They didn't deserve to win. Oilers outplayed and outworked the Canucks the whole game. No knock on Drai whatsoever, but I'd say Evan Bouchard was the difference maker this series. Contributed offensively when it mattered; 2 of their wins were due to his goals.I totally agree. We couldn't even make it through the neutral zone the first 40 mins. Dump and change, or dump and chase for the 1st two periods.I totally agree. He's an rfa,so he'll probably get a bridge deal. Unless another team tries an offer sheet, then the nuck would receive a butt load of 1st round picks. Same with Hronek.Wonder what Silov's next contract will be worth and with whom. That kid earned himself one hell of a boost.
Perfect storm of stupidity?I know we were chasing a conference title, but fuck me why didn't they rest his ass.
People like to point this shit out, but understand that professional sports teams are PAID MERCENARIES.They really are Canada‘s team, the Canucks sure could use a bit of that
