Great thread!
Here is a rough draft of some of my lofty hopes 'n dreams
To maybe one day find myself wonderfully tangled up with a gent who rocks salmon coloured suits - just because he can.
Who also eats his toast butter-side down ('cause that just makes sense)
Live long enough for NASA to lock down a few wormholes, reconcile Einsten's theories of General & Special Relativity, the theory of Time Dilation - and hurl me back in time so that I might:
a) Pick Carl Jung's brain for a day
b) Strongly urge Hitler's Mom to give him plenty of hugs in his formative years
c) Sit down for a bourbon (or many, many bourbons) with Kerouac and Burroughs (before they went and bent those beautiful brains of theirs)
d) Make out hard with Elvis Presley and/or Jim Morrison for AT LEAST 5 minutes
e) Give my 13 year-old self a REALLY epic pep talk
Master the practice of looking in to people - rather than looking through them.
Acquire a modest piece of land in a liberal, forward-thinking community where I could even opt to reside in a yurt, a treehouse or a bouncy castle if I so wished - and no one would really bat an eye.
Raise at least one confident, capable and compassionate little human who may one day go forth and make this already-crazy/beautiful world burn *just* a little brighter.
Oh - and the bonus round - for my breasts to not end up in my shoes by the time I'm 50. That would be extra swell
To make considerable, much-needed gains in the areas of patience for, appreciation of and general behaviour/attitude towards the important people in my life. This includes those of past, present and future. Seeking to make amends wherever possible with those whom I have failed - striving to learn from these mistakes in order to offer an even slightly better version of myself to those who bless my future - and in that spirit, pay forward the same forgiveness that I have been shown, time and time again - especially when I didn't
deserve it.
I think I want to be a vegetarian when I grow up,
And last, but not least- I would really like to one day do my Grandmother's borscht recipe some justice - but so far, this one is a bit of a long-shot!
