Only a Coastie could complain or need to stay home because of a few snow flakes.
I've somehow managed to be in Vancouver for every snowfall this winter.
I chuckle at what people call lots of snow in Vancouver. I go out and drive around in it with ease. I live half time in the Okanagan valley. If the equivalent snow falls in Kelowna, the locals just enjoy the fresh bit of new snow. Under a full foot of snow is not considered heavy at all.
I have to climb a steep hill immediately after pulling out of the underground parking at my condo. Instead of slamming my foot down on the gas pedal i just eased into it.
Very minimal tire spin and away I go.
There is nothing special about my car.
I just drive smooth and gentle, the exact same as driving in snow on any road in any other city.
Poor driving skills is not Mother Natures fault. I picked up 3 others and drive all 4 of us to our meeting. The 2 Vancouverites were astonished how comfortably I just drove around. Its only difficult when the snow is deep as my BMW has limited ground clearance. But in a few inches its just another day of driving around. I usually drive the car back and forth between Kelowna and Vancouver.
When I am in Kelowna and it snows more than 6 inches I take the truck. Not only does it have 4 wheel drive, but it has lots of ground clearance.
But for 2 or 3 inches of snow my car actually handles better than the truck does.
The car has better weight distribution than the ultra light rear of my truck. And i typically do not drive around with a thousand pounds over the rear tires of the truck to help balance it.
Maybe find a driving school that offers advanced car control classes.
Just drive slower than usual and think smoooooooth. No jerking suddenly on the wheel or pedals.
